Damn shame what those f'n injuries did to his career, only 34 today...
Nicks - ( New Window )
I will always love Hakeem Nicks

one of my all-time fav Giants.

It's a shame his body couldn't hold up.
Such a beast during the 2011 Playoffs

He was unstoppable.
He was a fantastic WR

A complete beast with the ball anywhere near him.
Giants WRs With Careers Cut Short
Trainmaster : 1/14/2022 3:44 pm : link
Hillard (I think)
Burress
S Smith
Nicks
Cruz
Manningham
Beckham (likely)
Shepard (likely)

Toney (too soon to tell, but doesn't look good so far)

Only real "Iron Man" WR is Toomer
S omany Giants careers cut short because of injury, Nicks, Cruz,
Jack Stroud : 1/14/2022 3:45 pm : link
David Wilson.
Was a legit #1 WR
Jimmycal : 1/14/2022 3:47 pm : link
who helped make Cruz a great #2 and Manningham a damn good #3. And yes I expect others will come back with 1a and 1b for HN/VC

Always felt this way as well.

Defensive coordinator based their game plans around stopping Nicks for about 2 years
Looks better

Oh, for sure. I doubt that anyone in their right mind would choose any version of Kenny Golladay over Nicks in his prime.
Think About This

Nicks doesn’t get hurt and continues to be a very good receiver. No need to draft Beckham: either Aaron Donald or Zack Martin get drafted. How different things would be?
the game where he got hurt in 2012 against TB was amazing.
Victor in CT : 1/14/2022 5:02 pm : link
He absolutley abused Aqib Talib. 200+ yards

:-(
Favorite Giants receiver of my lifetime.

Always reminded me of Michael Irvin, I think their style was really similar. And as others have said his performance in the 2011 run is absolutely legendary and statistically among the beat postseason performances at the position.
Nicks was such a smooth runner...not a burner
FranknWeezer : 1/14/2022 5:41 pm : link
but he had this way of gliding past people, in and out of breaks and traffic. So fun to watch.
So many contested catches...
gfinop : 1/14/2022 5:42 pm : link
Played like a great tighend in traffic.

Very fortunate he was on the team I follow.
We really had something with

Hakeem Nicks, Eli and Gilbride. It was a real bummer when his career ended in the blink of an eye. Happy 34th HN!
Who was the BBI'er
pmmanning : 1/14/2022 7:11 pm : link
that ran into him after the 2011 Championship (I think) and had a picture of Nicks holding his tiny newborn baby in his huge hands.
No 2011 without him

Great talent!
Unbelievable
AcidTest : 1/14/2022 10:35 pm : link
player. What a beast. His 2011 run was unreal. Huge hands that could snatch any ball and then he just ran away from DBs.
