I think the Chiefs take this one

I don't think it's even close....

...I think Big Ben is toast, he just isn't going to have it on the road.

Mobility and arm are really beginning the fail him.
Interesting game in that I loath the Steelers but there is
St. Jimmy : 1/16/2022 7:01 pm : link
Andy Reid on the other sideline. Is it better to have the Steelers advance vs. the better team with Andy Reid? Big Ben has to play into the equation too. Another piece of garbage. Right now I am thinking I want the Chiefs to win because I hate the Steelers but Andy Reid winning anything is a big detractor.
Think

the Chiefs win big.
Other than the Eagles games

this is the game I'm totally confident on the outcome. Chiefs will win
Go Chiefs

Send Ben to the old QB's home.

Ben looks like he is preparing

I don’t want to see KC

again in the SB so am hoping they lose at some point.
I thought Gronk was the best TE
GNewGiants : 1/16/2022 9:42 pm : link
I ever saw but god damn Kelce makes the case interesting.
Mahomes
AcidTest : 1/16/2022 9:43 pm : link
being Mahomes by brilliantly extending the play. It also helped that the Steelers let one of the best TEs in the game roam completely unimpeded through their secondary.
Okay, ate dinner and had a little nappy after that

Mahomes is great
Kelce is great
Ben should have retired 4 years ago.
The chargers not being here is the ultimate disappointment.
This is the blowout most of us expected

They should go back to 6 teams in each conference
dpinzow : 1/16/2022 10:14 pm : link
making the playoffs. The #7 seed is noncompetitive against the #2 seed, almost to the point of being embarrassing
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned
GruningsOnTheHill : 1/16/2022 10:14 pm : link
but the Steelers look suspiciously like the Giants.

How is this putrid team in the playoffs?

They added an extra team to the playoffs in each conference. Before 2020, there were only 6 teams in the playoffs in each conference. This Pittsburgh team is a #7 seed

Boy, this game would be far
jvm52106 : 1/16/2022 10:21 pm : link
Better if it were the Raiders or Chargers here. That OT blunder by the Chargers really changed the AFC playoffs.

christian : 1/16/2022 10:21 pm : link
Watching KC’s offense is such a treat.

Bills Chiefs is going to be a fantastic game.

Chiefs would buzzsaw the Raiders. They blew them out twice this year.

I agree on the Chargers. That would be a competitive game
Did the NFL really need to add two additional playoff teams?
FranknWeezer : 1/16/2022 10:41 pm : link
The Eagles and Steelers are certainly providing the counterargument against it. Two putrid performances.

Two extremes at play. A steelers QB on fumes going out like a dead fish in his last start and a young QB in his first ever postseason game.

And at the same time penalize the Chiefs and Bucs with an extra game.

Money money money money

MUH-NEEEE
The 7th team in the playoffs were a mistake.
FStubbs : 1/16/2022 10:51 pm : link
Neither the Steelers nor Eagles are competitive.
The 7th team
Jerry in_DC : 1/16/2022 10:56 pm : link
made it a lot easier for bad teams to get in. I think there are enough good teams, but you the standings to work out perfectly. Like the Chargers or a healthy Ravens would be legit playoff teams - way better than Pittsburgh.

Philly is terrible. A healthy Seattle pr a luckier Vikings would have been more interesting. It's unlikely that we're going to get the actual 7 best teams though. So we're going to get some garbage games.
2 vs 7 games started last year
dpinzow : 1/16/2022 10:57 pm : link
we had a competitive one last year with Buffalo beating Indy 27-24, but the Colts were unusual because they had an 11-5 record and finished 7th

The other three #2 vs #7 games weren't much to write home about

Saints 21, Bears 9 (wasn't that close)
Bucs 31, Eagles 15 (wasn't that close)
Chiefs blowing out Steelers by 21 at the moment
Seems like it just yesterday
JohnF : 1/16/2022 11:09 pm : link
BBI was waiting for the 2004 draft, and talking about Rivers, Eli and Ben?

Eighteen years later. Wow, it flew bye, and now we're seeing the last game (probably) for that QB class. Funny how that goes.

The 2004 QB draft class rides off into history
dpinzow : 1/16/2022 11:18 pm : link
Divisional playoffs

8:00 PM Saturday--49ers at Packers
