He is the brains behind the man. I’ve read several articles saying “ Peters may be the SMARTEST AND BEST” player evaluator, both college and pro. Do you not think SF would not want to lose him? Think again….if there is a will, there is a way….

If he wants to be a GM, he's going to do what's best for his future.

Why are they letting him interview for jobs then? If they were half as adamant about keeping him as you and the random writer of that terrible article are, why even give him the chance to test the waters?

Maybe they are waiting to see if he gets an offer…if he does, they could then match it. As best as I can tell, I think only the Giants are bringing him in for an interview. They know we are interviewing 9 people so maybe we don’t choose him to be the one.
If no one makes an offer to Peters, no need to make changes. I think people are more inclined to make changes when push comes to shove. Of course I’m thinking out loud and maybe SF doesn’t mind losing him….
SF was always Peters “Dream Jobs” statements from different people.
While I’m sure there is some truth to that, I’m also sure that things like this were discussed before having a formal interview with him. As has been mentioned multiple times on this board, the Giants have been in communication through “back channels” with a lot of these guys for months.
My guess says Peters has 4-5 jobs he’d actually leave SF for and NY is one of them.
The whole article is one writers opinion of what he HOPES happens. Not one piece is fact based.
Indeed.
If the Giants really wanted to go against the grain and get completely out of their box, hiring Peters and McDaniel, who I am assuming Peters would hire as the HC, would be as disruptive as it gets for Mara.
Both guys are young, bright, forward-thinking minds that are the future of the NFL.

Good words, Bitey….I hope you are right and I hope NY can “persuade him” to come on over if they decide he is the one. I have gone on record here saying Peters is my first choice….but Hortiz and Schoen are a very close 2nd….I will rejoice over us selecting any of the names here.
and still has family there and/or he's got kids whose grand parents live on LI nothing else needs to be said. If that's the case and he's offered the job IMO he's taking it.
It would be the least Mara thing ever, nothing would be even close to hiring Peters and McDaniel. I can't even imagine it but I'm all for it.
There have been very few people linked to the Giants to replace Gettleman and Judge who I don't like so far.
I have no idea how any of these people would work out, most of the names they have interviewed for GM I had never heard of a month ago. It sure seems the Mara's are looking in the right places for their next hires. How great will it be if they hit on them. The law of averages are in their favor.
Exactly. After I read this sentence, that reinforced how dumb it was:

Read the article, it's just the writer hoping why and should stay, nothing more. Adams will be interviewing on Monday.
No, no, no….read the link…just speculation. The interview is still on.

….I’m disappointed- he was one of my favorites after researching. Does this mean he cancelled his interview tomorrow?

Thank you GFAN - looks as if the thread title is misleading (which others pointed out)
This helps…
Why would he interview? I can think of a few reasons:
1. Ego
2. Leverage, to get a raise or promotion
3. Maybe he wants the job
Nothing is etched in stone yet….
