So we all hate him and want nothing to do with him. I’ve been thinking about it he is a good coach, won a super bowl with Foles etc. We should definitely consider him. I’m sure Dallas fans hated Parcells but they were happy when he was the coach. I know he’s not Parcells but he might legitimately be the best head coach candidate out there.
There hasn’t.
Nope. Eventually there will be one though.
This is a good point. Reich has been a solid head coach, should’ve never traded for Wentz though.
He might be right but things came together with Eagles too. Lot of roster talent and depth on both sides of ball.
If Reich doesn’t win into playoffs next year he’ll be out of job in Indy himself.
I don't buy that for a second. Pederson knew that he was going to be fired and had he received that order from the FO there is absolutely no benefit to him following that order. He would have mentioned it after being fired.
But I'll stick to the process and trust the GM to make the call.
Sean Payton?

Ha, I was jk but I guess you’re right come to think of it.

Yes I know, lots of coaches have worn visors at one time or another. I was making a joke about Pederson who always wears them.
St. Albans, if your Pederson, you say NO just like Parcells, Coughlin and most others would. If fired, he’d have been snapped up in a nanosecond
They weren't happy with his game management at all.
He benefited from a rather weak NFC in 2017 and implementing the RPO (via Reich) which took the league by surprise. That's not to say the didn't have talent.
Subsequent years he benefited from playing the Skins and Giants to squeak into the playoffs.
I'd have a ton of questions about his ability to succeed here.
There has to be many NFL players that care about winning and don't want to be scolded by a coach that had openly and deliberately coached his team to lose the game.
Any FA player why would they want to play for a coach that is okay deliberately coaching his team to lose?
Anytime a coach deliberately coaches his team to lose, he becomes a complete loser. If the Giants are done again after week 12 what's to stop him from doing the same shit he did with Philly? Why wouldn't it be on the back of his player's minds?
The guy is a loser now. You coach to deliberately lose- you are a loser. You never want to see a player quit, but it's okay for a coach to do it while their were playoff implications for other teams? It would be nonsense to consider him.
Has there been a coach who won a SB and then took another team to a SB even without winning again?

has there been an NFL coach to win a SuperBowl with two different teams AS A HEAD COACH? I’m not saying this should deter a candidate but was drawing a blank.
Now that I think about it, the list of coaches who have taken 2 teams to the SB is pretty short.
Thank you Mrs. Pederson. Your husband is a loser.

Shula and Reid as well.
I guess Craig Carton was right. I can't believe people give a shit about that completely irrelevant coaching move.
Quote:
I could live with that. It's that he intentionally tried to lose a game. I want a winner. I want a guy who will do anything it takes to win. I don't want a guy who will play Nate fucking Sudfeld and then pretend like he wasn't trying to throw the game.

Some of us do. It meant the playoffs and that’s always the bottom line, at least for me
Right. It's typical BBI practicing the art of being dumb.
We're willing to roll the dice two years ago for a guy who never was a HC and was on the brink of becoming the HC for Mississippi State. But we don't want to hire a SB winning coach who went to the playoffs 3 of 5 years at the helm.
Every day we are reminded here that NYG fans are clearly not the brightest fans in the NFL.
If only Pederson grew up in New Jersey and went to Boston College or Princeton. And was an avid NYG fan growing up.
I'm not sure about Pederson, but I'd give him an interview.
Pederson was a Super Bowl, and did it with his backup QB no less so that has to count for something.
Giants fans that don't like him because he wears a visor and the Philly decision last year kept us out of playoffs is short-sighted. The Giants kept themselves out of playoffs by losing 3 of the last 4 and losing control of their own destiny.
Bring him in for a little chat and let Chris Mara decide...
What Pederson did was take advantage of a great situation and closed the deal. He deserves a ton of credit for that. I would not expect the same great fortune next time but he certainly warrants the chance. Many coaches also had great situations and never reached the heights he did.
I had the misfortune of being in the Philly market during some of his tenure.
My opinion, he is a goober. Reich was the brains of that operation. After that he coasted on the strong Oline, and weak division. Never a real contender after FR left.
The game management stuff is sometimes over rated by fans. Truthfully most fan bases are irate at a decision the HC made every monday morning. That said, some of the shit I saw him do in game was staggeringly stupid. He will be reviled by fans faster then most of our coaches.
The firing was not over that game. He lost a power struggle with Howie, who was telling him he had to fire staff and replace with guys on a short list.
As for the FO telling him to lose games, the dolphins FO told Flores to tank for Tua. he refused
We need to be very very careful about turning our backs on the most accomplished and viable HC (assuming harbaugh is out) available solely because of one really weird game. A game still shrouded in mystery I might add. We don’t even know what really happened behind the scenes.

It's one thing to watch the games. It's another thing to understand it. Those Philly teams went 9-7 both years after winning the SB and made the playoffs. And they were ravaged by injuries each year. From decimated secondaries, decimated WR corps, decimated OLs to injuries to Wentz, Pederson kept that team on the rails and figured it out. He deserves a ton of credit for his work.
He could’ve shown some backbone and character and said no. He ended up alienating his locker room doing exactly what he did, and lost his job anyway.
I’m sure if he said no, it would have impressed players and teams league wide, and would’ve been a plus on his resume going forward. Instead it’s a bit of a black cloud following him around.

He's getting interviews for HC jobs in the NFL. And seems to be one of the favorites for the Chicago and Minnesota openings. So the black cloud is likely the imagination of NYG fans.
Nope

Well if that’s true let’s see what FA players will go where he is. I know money is always the number 1 factor but all things being equal, I’d bet more than most would go elsewhere.
Maybe because you are a quitter too and you can care less when players and coaches quit?
And apparently if you were na elite athlete and worked your ass off your whole life to make it to the top of professional sports, you would be okay being scolded by not running hard on a particular play from someone like a fat out-of-shape coach who knowingly threw a game for his team?

So by your logic because "The Mighty Bears and Vikings" are interviewing him it means Pederson is on his way for great success.
This is typical of your way of thinking. You don';t seem to give a fuck either about potentially Watson being a serial sexual assault predator.
You don't give a fuck about fans, coaches and players having to endure your philosophy of getting QB's every year every other year. There's only 1 important person in football with you that's the QB and fuck everyone else.
You're such a high character guy, aren't you?

Who said anything about Pederson's future success? The point is there is demand for Pederson to be the HC.
What does Watson have to do with this? Where did I ever mention support for Watson and his legal issues?
I have no comment about your diatribe on my QB philosophy. Just another red herring out of your keyboard.
Just out of curiosity, are you an LT fan?
Pederson is another IQ test for NYG fans. And many are failing.
+1

should have no problem with Peterson as HC. Whether he's the best fit, that's up to the new GM. But as a fan, no issue.

Living in South Jersey I watched a lot of Eagle games when the Giants weren’t playing, and he made a lot of questionable game decisions. A lot.
Yes, some worked but plenty didn’t and they were all still questionable and had me scratching my head why he made them.
While I’m not a Mensa member, I do have a pretty decent IQ, and I’ve watched decades of football to know a questionable decision when I see one.
He’s not a HC I’d want that’s for sure.
The DC (swartz?) was foisted upon him by the FO. In the first year he (JS) was fomenting a coup to become HC. It was close to succeeding as Pedersen was way over his head, and the defense was in its own Silo, so to speak. Actually think swartz was quitting before Dougie got shit canned last year.
Reich was the brains of the offensive operation. That was a good selction as OC. Pedersen liked to call the plays but reich and defilippo drew them up and installed them. They did the nuts and bolts coaching. Eagles were leaking air from when reich left to when DP was fired.
And if you were critical of Judges game day management this guy will give you an anurism. He legitimately lacks intelligence. He was viewed as a good/ likable administrator.
Put it this way, he is the only SB winning coach in Philly history and they are glad he is gone.
look a little deeper then the record. It's all out there.

So true. The guy is a moron. I lived in market for a while, as well. watching him week in week out, plus the pressers....I will put it this way I hoped he was head coach of Philly for life. him getting fired was a bummer for me, as a giants fan.

Future success would have to be part of the equation why posters wouldn't want Pederson, wouldn't it?

Yes I am. But why is that relevant?
When I learned of LT's issues it was after he retired. If LT was doing the stuff he was doing while playing and he was a Free Agent, it would be no problem taking him?
So how is it that you're trying to tie in both Pederson and LT? You can't see the difference between the 2?

Same here, watched a lot and did not like his game management one bit.
Yep, he went to that well way too many times.
