Sense I get is every, or nearly every, Giants GM candidate has Brownsville's Brian Flores on short list of preferred coaches. Flores' New York buddies want him to wait out Giants GM search (ends Friday?) but he's already interviewed w/ Chicago & Houston & might get offer first.
Sign me up for Flores.

Yep, we went to Poly Prep
I’m not sure. If he has a real sense that he could land the NYG job, I really think he would wait it out
So much for the NYG situation being the “least desirable”.
No way he knows the coaching shortlists of GMs. Pure speculation and guessing on his part.

In fairness, one of the concerns that some fans had was that if the Giants fired another HC go after two years in addition to "retiring" DG, the implied instability would be discouraging for candidates in each of the GM and HC roles. I'm pretty sure I can find some of those posts rather quickly.
I don't think anyone who wanted DG/JJ gone was especially convinced that those respective jobs wouldn't be of interest to quality candidates.
Some of the best head coaches in football are on the defensive side.
Was seen smoking in the boys room.
I've heard Houston and Flores.

I work in the area and work with someone who knows him. He is actually a really nice guy who didn't forget about people from that area / where he came from despite his success.

That's too funny.
I've heard Houston and Flores.
It doesn’t really take an insider to make this leap, lol. The Texans fawning over Flores isn’t exactly a secret

there are some definite red flags with him. He also isnt an offensive mind which is a problem imo

Yes, but for this specific Giants team, I think it's a problem. It's not like Flores is some cant miss rockstar HC. He could easily flop too and has some things going against him already. I dont think he should have been fired in Miami but also dont think he's that great of a HC

O'Connor is really trying to push this isn't he?

You're right.
This is not true. It was a rumor.

I suspect that Mara has addressed the family situation with GM candidates and made them comfortable they will have the authority they want. Plus, they now all know that the alleged big, bad NY media are a bunch of pussies

no HCs and GMs would want to come here, to the idea that potential GM candidates have been banging on the door to get an interview and at least one HC candidate might possibly wait on other opportunities to see what happens here.

Haha...maybe Bill.
Or it really never was the Least Desirable and that was just a few posters (and the media) doing the normal exaggerating for effect to get a rise...
Steelers, Ravens, Giants, Seattle, Kansas City, New England (3), Philly. 9 teams have won a SB on a rookie contract and all of them had a very good D and most outstanding.
He let Graham go.. why would he stay?
Didn't Flores already fire Graham? I'd bet if its Flores there's zero chance Graham stays. You're not keeping a DC who you fired at your last stop.
He had zero reason to let Graham go. You don't let a coach go for a lateral move if you want him there. They could have simply denied permission to even interview.

Yeah,,,,nice guy, except apparently to his coaching staff who he completely cut communication with during the season. Sounds like an ace candidate for the NYG job!

You know that Belichick was fired too way back.
Wasn't the thinking at the time that Flores was the defensive playcaller in Miami and Graham wanted a chance to fully run his own defense?
