Any thoughts on Mat Nagy as a HC candidate?

jcp56 : 1/17/2022 3:53 am
He had the Bears at 12-4, 8-8, and 8-8 before this past season, without any talent at QB.

I haven't watched them much the past few years, but he has a track record as a winning head coach without much at QB. How is Flores better than Nagy?

I'm reluctant to go with someone relying on a great QB, like Josh Allen or Aaron Rodgers. I frankly admire what Rivera did, or even the Eagles coach did with what little they had.
Folks were calling for Nagy's ouster starting in Week 5

That feels like a pretty clear indication of what he brings to the table as a coach.
I have a thought

Way too slow with adjustments and his ego held them back. Chicago made a run at end of 2020 season when Nagy gave up playcalling to OC Bill Lazor. The latter did a much better job working in David Montgomery and covered up pass blocking issues. So what does Nagy do for 2021? Take playcalling duties back from Lazor. The results were predictable and Chicago struggled. When Fields got hurt and Nagy gave it back to Lazor the offense looked much better.
PUKE…

F No.

Maybe on the offensive staff, but that’s it.
Could you have suggested a suckier option?

His temperament and energy. If the worse thing you can say about him is his play calling, I think that is an easy fix, agree up front that he will not call the plays. I would prefer him rather than all the candidates that do not have head coaching experience, and latest rumors about Flores lack of communications with staff and attempted power grab is a concern. We could do much worse than Nagy IMV.
Based on what I saw Tubinsky post

Is it too much to ask that the Giants hire a guy whose fan base wasn't chanting for his firing a couple of weeks ago?
As OC yes, but not HC.....

Gave no care to improve Trubisky.

And he also only had one season where his offenses were semi decent. No thanks.

Here's one tidbit.

Quote:

“After the 2019 season concluded, Trubisky prepared to meet with Nagy,” wrote Jahns and Fishbain. “They needed to have a conversation. How were they going to make this work? The quarterback prepared notes for the meeting. Nagy, though, didn’t make it — ‘He no-showed him,’ a source said. Trubisky left his notes behind.”

There was also a report that Trubisky was vocal about the offense not working in preseason, saying the scheme needed to be improved, and Nagy shrugged it off. But then the scheme didn't work in the regular season, which is exactly what Trubisky said.

Yikes. That'd be a big NO then.
We don't need Chicago's castoffs - normal castoffs are questionable

enough, but Chicago's yuch
