49ers Offensive Coordinator Mike McDaniel may be the smartest guy in football. Seriously, seek out some of his pressers, the guy thinks on another level. He is a Shanahan guy, starting in Denver with Mike in 2005 and then following him through the league and now with Kyle. He does not call plays in San Fran.
Rams Offensive Coordinator Kevin O'Connell. Is there a hotter coaching tree than Sean McVay? The pedigree is the anti-belichick and includes Zac Taylor, Mike LeFleur and Brandon Staley. Former NFL quarterback, he's considered highly valuable to the Rams offensive game planning and for his work in the QB room. He does not call plays in LA.
Rams Assistant Head Coach/RB Coach Thomas Brown. Not a coordinator, but he is a bit of an unknown with some buzz. He has coordinator experience at the college level. Another member of the McVay tree, who considers him his right hand man. NFL Network has compared him to Mike Tomlin 15 years ago.
All three have drawn interview requests from other teams.
I hope the new GM seriously takes a look at all three of these guys.

Very true, but I think if we're wearing Mara glasses, McDaniel is probably last in that lineup of looking/feeling like a HC. And for the record, I am DYING for this guy to be a giant lol.

I think McDaniel will be an excellent coach, whether now or in the near future.

He has some traits that are unique
His recall is apparently on another level. Watching his interviews he is very deliberate and thoughtful but also has a quick wit. His players love him from what I’ve read. He doesn’t look the part but he’s also a football junkie.

I have watched a lot of content, too. Was he an alcoholic at one point? I did hear him say he was in his 5th year without any alcohol.

Thought I would never say it but I think a Caldwell type is in the cards and probably wouldn’t be a terrible idea.
