that want to bring back ex-Giants either as players or coaches simply because they were ex-Giants. Whether they are any good or not doesn't seem to matter.
I don't think him being hired by the Eagles should alone
drive any hiring decisions with the Giants.
Yes, he's made Hurts at least a functional NFL QB, who's passing improved markedly from year 1 to 2. I'm not sure what the expectations should be, should he have to make Hurts the next Mahomes?

Not that media opinions matter but I have heard talk that Hurts put up a pro-bowl level season this year in the media.

Hurts is passable because he is an excellent scrambler and runner. Alex Tanney didn't teach him that. His passing is still subpar, it just moved off atrocious.
Are mostly gone. Why would he even want to come here, the NYG are so unstable with coaches. Outside of Jones, really who is close with? Don't see it being an option either party would consider, but sure if some one offered him a great offer why not.

Not that Pro Bowls matter, but I have heard that Hurts took his team to the playoffs this year with a rookie HC a roster that had 20% of its cap eroded due to dead money from his predecessor being traded.

the guy is nowhere near elite, but he's not in the same crap hole as any Giants QB since Eli 2016. I hate the Eagles with a burning passion, so it's hard to push this opinion. Hurts puts his team in a position to win with marginal talent... he doesn't lose games. That's a hell of a lot more than we can say about recent Giants quarterbacks.

I can take a dig at Hurts' passing ability, and still acknowledge he is better than Jones.
But the main point of my post was "what has Tanney done to be considered a good choice for Giants QB coach?" Even if you like the progress Hurts is making, why is there any belief that Tanney had something to do with it?

Why would he even want to come here?
Why the fuck should we care if he does or not?
Just amusing the OP dude. Chill.
A coach who has ties to only Jones for QB coach...yeah...sounds absurd right? Why would he want to come here? Promotion? Money?
I love all the reactions like I'm making a case for it. I'm just asking if anyone thinks it's possible. That being said...our QB play was so poor it would be hard to believe anyone could do a worse job than the last regime

Hold up now. You might be onto something.
Look at Danny's rookie year stats compared to anything later.... Maybe Tanney is a QB whisperer for Jones, or the wind beneath his wings? 🤔

I'd be shocked if he's working with Hurts on a daily basis.

Exactly. A quality control coach is entry level coach, as in "come in early and break down some film for us... and don't forget to bring the donuts".
Having said that, with all the shit BBI gave Tanney, does anyone doubt he would have played better than Glennon and Fromm?

Which is why I am struggling with why he would be a good QB coach.
Couldn't we just give the Tisch half of ownership?
