I'm surprised there isn't more talk about him. His production has been great, his arm is ridiculous (maybe stronger than Josh Allen). I know he has a knee injury from HS that concerns some people but he has a ton of talent. Curious of what others who have watched him think of his game and why he's not being mentioned right now. I think after workouts and bowls leading to the draft his stock is going to soar.

Mac Jones?

Not a first rounder IMO but someone will give the passing talent a chance. Reminded me a little of Jeff George. Classic drop back passer.

Yeah that's the one that comes to mind. Not many more, if any.
I want to see the Giants come out of the first two/three rounds with a QB. I don't love Strong, but I'm open to it. Got to keep trying at the position; waiting to shoot the moon with the right prospect - I don't think that's the right approach in the current CBA.
He does not fit the profile that NFL teams are trending towards
He is not mobile but he does have good pocket presence
The team that drafts him better have a good line and fast receivers
Arm is very strong similar to Corral
One thing I don't get - Bryce Young and CJ Stroud are being touted as the foundation of a strong 2023 QB class - I don't see it.
I don't see either (particularly Young) as being in Corral's or Pickett's class as a passer.

Absolutely correct that someone will take a chance on that arm.

The talent isn't there and the Giants have so many other needs that can be filled at the top of this draft

I don't see Young either to be honest. I haven't seen Stroud.
Brief highlights I've seen of Pickett - yes I think he looks the part more than Young. Bigger and stronger.
All that worries me because we were told 2023 was the draft class for QBs!

I don't either. I haven't watched them a ton, but every time I had a chance to catch one of their games on TV, I'm expecting to be wowed and I'm not. Not that they are bad, just with all the hype I've been expecting more.
Ridder
Willis
Zappe
Pickett
Howell
It is going to be a really interesting week of practice at the Senior Bowl with these 6 QB’s. Only QB missing is Corral at Senior Bowl.
- He comes from a sophisticated passing attack at Nevada
- He is slightly underrated (right now anyway) so maybe we can get him in round 2.
In summary, there is zero reason this guy can't turn out to be better than Pickett and Corral. He just played in Nevada, not the SEC.
His name is Carson Strong not Carson Runner or Carson Mobile.
Agreed, Pickett looks the best to me. Young just doesn’t look as fluid
20 years ago I guess he would've been a #1 overall pick?
Throwing from the pocket is a learned trait. If you are entering the NFL and people notice you for your legs and all the plays you make outside the pocket a la Johnny Manziel then you're gonna be left disappointed. To learn some crucial trait at the highest level is not likely to happen. There is nothing wrong with being mobile but give me the guy who can stand strong in the pocket and make the appropriate reads any day over a runner who bails when his first read is covered.
He has a good arm, he makes protection calls, he reads the field. He could compete with Jones, be a competent backup and win games in the NFL. Also depending on how he does gives us chance to find the THE QB if he can only be a backup, you still one of those, I rather burn a draft pick then spend 4 mil on known garbage.
I much rather fix oline with premium picks first and see what happens in the draft, if he falls to the 3rd round, I would pull the trigger for sure. He has a good of chance to be the best QB in the draft despite his immobility

He’s a throwback pure pocket passer. He has the mobility of 2021 Big Ben

Clever. However today qbs needs to move. Carson strong is one of the least athletic qb prospects we’ve seen in a very long time.
It really is. Also say that the Giants target Young in the 23 draft, and suck enough in 22 to nab him, and then he goes and tears an ACL in his last CFB game.
Projecting and waiting it out to 23 for a QB is a big risk.

Maybe going back as far as Brady. ( No I'm not saying he's Brady)

If we had the opportunity to draft Will Anderson in 2023, are we going to pass on him for Bryce Young? No way.

I was just being facetious. I agree that mobility is very important these days.
That's why Eli is going to the HOF and why the Giants are still looking for the next QB.
exactly. He needs to move well in the pocket. Every QB needs to do this. Brady is amazing at moving in the pocket. So are Burrow, Rodgers, and Mahomes.
If he can feel pressure, sidestep, buy extra seconds, that is good enough to succeed.
