That would appear to make more sense than Horitz not earning a second interview. Would be really disappointing too.

No reason not to take the 1st interview. You at least can hear from ownership to make a more informed decision about whether or not its the right fit. Plenty of times people will pull themselves out of contention for a job after the 1st interview.
