already be under way? Not sure how this works. I would think contract parameters are part of the in-person interviews so maybe announcement could come Friday? (he said hopefully). Fwiw, after what's transpired over the past decade, I'm happy with any one of these guys. I also hope the ability on the administrative side to restructure and reorganize the whole football operation quickly is part of the consideration in addition to draft and personnel acumen.
This should be an area where Steve Tisch would be a great resource. He’s overseen many high-stakes Hollywood talent negotiations. His lawyers are probably quite skilled at this.
And the reporting hierarchy.
I am sure exec salaries are also weighted for cost of living around NYC.
In short I don't think money would be an issue. Perhaps contract length, considering the quick trigger the org has had lately. The last 3 coaches were compensated well, but also have passed the likelyhood of ever being a HC again. I can see the GM wanting 5/ 6 years. . That's their mess, so fuck 'em. trust fund babies have been buying their way out of problems since the jump.
I am pretty certain that all the candidates were asked who they would like to see as their coach(or at least interview). Also pretty certain if all three listed Quinn and Flores, the Giants will attempt to set up meetings or see what dates these coaches would be available. Remember if these coaches are making the rounds, the Giants want to let them know that they are interested to prevent a coach signing with another team before at least thinking the Giants were interested.
I have a feeling the new GM will be announced this weekend.
