I was going back and forth between my 2 favorites candidates doing a “pro and con” between Schoen and Peters….then it dawned on me… holy shit… between Poles (my hope is the GM hired brings him as Asst GM) Schoen and Peters, we are guaranteed a young, polished, talented and respected GM.
I was still afraid they would hire Scott Pioli or another old school retread/connection. I actually think Pioli would be a fine choice, but by the Giants interviewing literally every top shelf OUTSIDE candidate this showed me 2 things:
1). Mara/Tisch are done with the old Giants way of thinking (in the past Acorsi would’ve lead the hiring charge…blah! Old dogs…no new tricks)
2). (If the reports of new GM having carte blanche are true)The NYG will undergo the largest changes within the organization since 1979… the two top choices IMO, Schoen and Peters are ready to lead an organization from day one…and will do their best work in the draft. That’s who I want running our team, a younger talent that has scouting background and excelling in that exact background. Drafting is the key to SF and Buffalo’s current playoff squads and we will have one of these two picking for the NYG’s future! This draft is loaded and we have 5 premium picks… this draft class will be a big part of getting NYG back into contention. Schoen or Peters is gonna nail draft picks. That’s what will get us back into the playoffs sooner than later.
Poles still doesn’t have the entire picture on his resume, but Schoen and Peters are well versed across the entire gamut of GM key responsibilities to make immediate impact. Ed Dodds is the only talent evaluator I would pick ahead of our 2 fav’s… maybe McClay outta Dallas, but we have 2 really amazing candidates, and we can’t go wrong with either Schoen or Peters!
Let’s just sit back and enjoy this process… we’re finally getting a modern front office and I for one am excited as hell at the prospects. Fuck ya
I think once we became a national joke the moment after JJ's 11 minute meltdown post Bears game helped too, exacerbated by the QB sneaks vs. WFT.

I think you’re spot on…
Harbaugh has his pelts on the wall and is a damn good coach…. I would love to have him! But…is he cool coaching only, or does he want to shop for the groceries too? That’s my only hang up with him…plus he’s a known quirky guy anyways. I wonder how he fits in with new GM?
But that would be a great problem to have hehe

I am optimistic but I also was optimistic in September...
... I guess that's just me.
That said, when power in our world declares big changes coming... It oftentimes is window dressing, and we find that The song remains the same.

It can get worse. Just remember. But odds are in our favor. Even in the movie Major League the Browns eventually stopped sucking.
