Barkley - I know, many here are ready to blow it all up, starting with Saquon Barkley. I think it's way too premature to do that. ACLs like he suffered take a good two years to heal. What he & Deavante Booker did behind embarrassing O-line play is remarkable.
Dan Jones - Stat-wise, he's Eli Manning ....
Manning Career - TDs/Interceptions Ratio (360/244) = 1.47
Pass Completion Average - 60.29; Rating - 84.1
Jones - TDs/Interceptions Ratio (45/29) = 1.55;
Pass Completion Ave - 62.8
Rating - 84.3
The mistakes ...
[b]Nate Solder[b] - He was a mistake, day one. Now, mercifully he's gone.
[b]Kyle Rudolph[b] - Vikings' cast-off; came in broken. Doesn't have much gas in the tank. Gone
[b] Kenny Galladay[b] - Another broken one, but stuck with him , because of Mega contract
The hangers on ?...
[b] Will Hernandez[b] - A good pro lineman, but not good enough to handle his work and help out with suspect center and tackle play on each side of him
[b]Evan Engram - With the receiving corps decimated by injury, he was asked to beat double-teams all day (on top wrestling 300 pound uglies)
[b]Jabrill Peppers - Just when it looked like he was going to be a strong member of an outstanding three safety corps, he went down with injury. Who knows what will happen to him.
The heart-breakers ....
[b]Nick Gates[b] - Not a great athlete, but smart and holds his own against the best defensive linemen. Will probably miss this year, at least. His career may be over after injury. (New GM will probably negotiate an Injury Settlement)
[b]Blake Martinez[b] - His loss to the defense is equivalent to the Offense losing a Pro bowl type QB. Went down with ACL on no contact play. His body is "football done". another Injury settlement.
[b]Sterling Shepard[b] - Jones' most reliable go-to target. He's also has a "football done" body. Injury settlement
Seriously I think the only baby may be Andrew Thomas

McKinney, as well
shiiiiiinnnne it up real nice...
turn that sumbitch sideways
AND SHOVE IT STRAIGHT UP HIS CANDY ASS
We have no replacement for either on the roster. We have no cap space to replace either. None of the college QBs look ready to come in and start, and certainly none are anything close to sure things. We will have cap space and a better college QB class in 2023.

trading Barkley will free up 7mil in cap space. Plenty of money to sign a suitable guy to play alongside booker. The pick we get back is gravy
And here's hoping the new GM and his HC do the right thing and get rid of Jones this offseason. I can't bear to watch - assuming he's healthy - another year of this guy playing QB. He's a bore, can't produce TDs, and can't win.
I don't care if he's cheap or not. BFD. I'd rather watch clothes dry.
Yeah, where is this coming from?

To be fair, we would all rather you watch paint dry too…
The rest of the names on the OP don't care if traded, retire or outright released on all of them.
Baby, bathwater, soap, washcloth, rubber ducky. Dump it, dump it all...
This will lead to the usual suspects saying they picked the wrong GM because he must be wrong if he’s not doing X, or he’s a puppet, or they “got to him.” And thus the inevitable cycle of bitching about Jints Central will begin anew, the cycle of life and renewal like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon to crap on the nearest flower.

I agree with you. Everyone thinks blowing everything up means that 75% of the roster will be gone. A good GM will have to balance all the things you mentioned. This is not a one year fix.
There are players who will excel no matter how incompetent the play around them; Will is not capable of that - so yes he looks "atrocious" now.
When he had Gates next to him, he graded in the top 10 best guards in the NFL. But, it doesn't matter now; it's a "what have you done for me lately league"

This team is no position to let either have a "recovery year". I DON'T want this for either of these guys. But, seeing them go down in a heap with nobody within 10 yards of them ca't impress a new GM ...
I just don't see any new GM willing to take any chances with seriously injured players, coming back. You know what "they" say - "nothing personal, just business"
The only comparison is they both were prone to bad decisions, difference is Eli was extremely productive before and after such mistakes, Jones is minimally productive with numbers on par to a career backup. Jones has nothing close to the field vision or command of an offense that Eli had. How many times do we require an TV analyst depicting good protection for Jones, only to see him completely miss an open receiver. In the TB game alone, they pointed out two plays on the same serious that a legit top NFL qb makes a team pay for with a TD, yet Jones misses the open receivers. Just stop with these comparisons or somehow suggesting Manning was a game manager.
That given the O-lines, receivers and running backs that Eli had, Jones can, at the end perhaps achieve the success that Eli enjoyed.
Eli was never his brother, Payton ....
539 TDs/ 251 INTs = 2.15
65% Completion average
96.5 rating
Nor probably Jones will ever be, but
I don't think he's a throw-away (as some are thinking he is); surround him with quality and he can deliver.
I guess you don't remember the "Good Eli - Bad Eli" tags that people put on him.
Remember this Photo-shopped picture ? He, unfairly. caught a lot of grief.

Yeah I remember every minute of Eli's career really well, Manny. He struggled early like Jones has. But he also had flashes of really strong play in those times because of how smart he was. He was learning and getting better which is what you want from a young QB?
What improvement have you seen in Jones? His football IQ is subpar. Most of his flashes occurred early in his career and have evaporated. I am not sure what anyone would point to as progress from him?
Yes, the talent around Jones sucks. That doesn't mean he is actually a good QB. What it means is that he has been here 3 years and the only reason to keep him around is hope that he will get smarter in reading defenses and make faster decisions. I'd prefer to not keep hoping a poor player who rarely flashes turns into something suddenly in year 4.
I agree 100% on Barkley - give him next season
Jones - I'd bring in competition and start making him earn it. Draft a QB in Rd 2 or 3, and if this season doesn't work draft a QB in the 2023 draft Rd 1
Hernandez - just let him go. We can get anyone to replace him
Engram - gone
Solder - gone
Peppers - I'm fine with him. When used right he is very productive
