"It is an honor to accept the position of general manager of the New York Giants," said Schoen. "I want to thank John Mara and Steve Tisch and their families for this tremendous opportunity. And obviously I am grateful to Brandon and the Bills for the experience I have had in Buffalo.
"Now, the work begins. My immediate focus is to hire a head coach, with who I will work in lockstep with to create a collaborative environment for our football operations. We will cast a wide net, it can be former head coaches, first-time head coaches but, more importantly, it has to be a person who possesses the ability to lead an organization and the ability to motivate and develop players. On the personnel side, we will begin to evaluate our roster and prepare for the draft and free agency. Our goal is to build a roster that will be competitive, have depth, and most importantly, win football games."

Indeed
and start building through the draft
Like everyone else, I'm tired of the same old, same old. I want brighter days ahead for this team.
My guess is my old Fat friend must be elated.

Here's to fixing the Giants.

Ha ha, Professor Turgeson
Here's to having a professional who understands the modern game and who is focused solely on building a team that can win.
Can one of the reporters ask if the Maras are part of that collaboration please with respect to personnel decisions?
P.S. Fire Petit, Konz, and any other sycophants while making sure Chris plays with his ponies and Timmy gets the juice boxes lined up properly in the fridge. Oh yeah, John can take acting lessons from the Tisches for his chair throwing tantrums in the future too.
BTW, we'll teach him "who" from "whom."
I don't trust the Maras to but the eff out.
I like
Don't get me wrong, I think he's a great hire, but what he said isn't anything amazing.
Certainly they had a good nucleus in place. One thing that both Carolina and now Buffalo is a really good front 7 with outstanding LB's. I think the NYG finally go first round 1 for that LB again. Keuchly, Edmonds. Two terrors in the middle.
Those were the days...
Some of you can't get old man Gettleman out of your heads.
Move on maybe?

I'm confident Schoen can develop those traits. It's early in his career. Rome wasn't built in a day!
Now onto the HC

We still talk about Handley. I've got some bad news if you think people are going to stop ridiculing the worst GM in franchise history immediately.
