I just had a PB& J (first one in a really long time) and it made me realize what an underrated sandwich it is - definitely gonna start eating them more often.
Whatcha got?
- Meatball Parm
- PB & J
- Pastrami on Rye
- Cuban Sandwich
(Buffalo chicken, Italian and bahn mi - honorable mention)
Pastrami on rye
BLT
Hamburger
Done.
Philly Cheese Steak
To fill it out, give me a good chicken parm, and bologna and peperoni w/mustard.
I'd add Pastrami on Rye with Mustard, Meatball Parm, and a good old fashioned hot dog with kraut and mustard
Haha. It is!!

the “is a hamburger a sandwich?” debate maybe get going here soon.
Haha. It is!!
Lol, I mean all of the fast food places refer to them as sandwiches. I’m kind of undecided on that issue myself.

I knew this was gonna happen. Hamburger is a sandwich a hot dog isn't (a taco isn't a sandwich either).
Yeah, a good roast pork is definitely up there for me.
2) Italian Sub
3) Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese
4) Smashstyle Double Cheeseburger (fake processed American only)
2-Rueben
3-Roast Beef on rye with rusian dressing and cole slaw
4-Philly Cheese Steak
5-Sausage and peppers and onions on italian bread
You're welcome
Mine:
Italian Beef - wet
BLT - timeless
Reuben - timeless
Philly Cheesesteak (Amoroso roll only)
Philly cheesesteak is there.
Pastrami and/or corned beef (Katz's Deli style) get the final spot.
There are people posting some obscure choices on here and I can't tell if that is confusion or simply narcissism.
meaning it HAS to have ham, genoa and capicola and provolone cheese.
I had one place try and put bologna on it, one place tried to put mortadella on it, one place had american cheese, one place added mustard. someone asked about may and almost got punched in the face.
and then it has to have good bread. this cannot be overstated how important the bread is.
then you need lettuce, tomato, and olive oil and vinegar, salt and pepper.
not too much oil and vinegar or the bread gets soggy.
usually this comes from a small mom and pop sub shop in the Northeast.
and looks kind of like this (but on a sub roll).
The hot dog as a sandwich is debatable, but is a hamburger? I'll admit that I didn't think of it when making my list, but it has to be considered a sandwich IMO.
Good call, I'm changing my last entry to a turkey club on wheat toast with bacon and mayo.
I made pernil for the first time last week. Not only was it delicious but there was enough leftovers to make a bunch of Cuban sandwiches.
2) Cochon de Lait Po Boy (from Love at First Bite / Jazzfest)
3) Muffaletta (from DiMartinos)
4) Ham and Debris Po Boy (from Mother's)

Heated pastrami, melted Swiss, tomato (no lettuce), optionally onion (I add onion), and spicy brown mustard - best served on toasted rye bread
I also recently had, for the first time, a pastrami sandwich from Katz's Deli on the Lower East Side. I think the sodium is still coursing through my veins...but oh my God.
Yep: I went there.
1. peanut butter and jelly
2. grill cheese
3.BLT
4.Hamburger.
Mt. Rushmore....most the sandwiches ya'll listed on this post you only eat them every blue moon.
Also a salmon lox on a good bagel.
Fat Bitch from the Rutgers food trucks
Authentic/traditional Italian hoagie
Pork banh mi
But for me this conversation has to include the Sloppy Joe from Town Hall Deli in So. Orange or the Milburn Deli
Agreed completely. That's why it didn't make top 4
2) Meatballs
3) Pastrami On Rye
4) Reuben
Tuna melt honorable mention
Might need “hot sandwich” and “cold sandwich” sub categories. Mine are all hot sandwiches
For cold:
1) Italian Sub
2)Turkey & Provolone
3) Roast Beef & Provolone
4) PBJ
Cheesesteak
Carnitas Tacos
Done
Yaah, I can deal with that one also

I don't think a national referendum was held to see who was going up on the real Mt. Rushmore. And I certainly don't think I'm better than anyone else, but if my favs aren't also the most popular, people are just stupid
maybe substitute provolone for fresh mozzarella and then you are talking my language
I used to be on the road every day and every day was a damn good breakfast sandwich followed by any variety of good lunch choices.
Here in Nashville you have to make a special trip to the one or two places that might have something good. Lots of great restaurants and lots of great food, but just try and find a bacon and egg on a hard roll on a work day morning or a good Italian sub or a slice of pizza.
In central NJ I was spoiled. Never more than 10 minutes from some kind of greatness.
Hot pastrami.
Italian sub from a good sub place.
Everything else.
Egg salad made with Dukes mayo...
Purple onion sliced thin...salt and heavy on the pepper...easy on the lettuce

italian combo done for real with cappacola and all that italian stuff
Gyro with tzatziki, tomatos, and french fries.
Mortadella, fresh mozzarella, basil, red roasted pepper, balsamic vinegar and olive oil toasted on a sub
honorable mention, Turkey BLT on an everything bagel with chipotle mayo
Reuben
Turkey BLT
Cheesesteak (but not necessarily Philly, which is overrated af)
Chicken Parm
I've done it on fresh, but toasted should be just as good if you prefer in that way or the bagels get a day or two old or have been frozen
Grilled cheese, tomato, on sourdough
Pork, broccoli rabe, sharp provolone
Cheese steak
And I don't consider burgers or tacos as sandwiches..
So...
PB&J
Turkey,American,LTM on a hard role from any deli in NY state (Pennsylvania can't get it right)
Cheesesteak (now philly area DOES get this right)
Bacon, egg, cheese
A patty melt with nice carmelized onions.
Rare rare rare fresh deli made roast beef with provolone cheese, a little thinly sliced red onion and a nice russian dressing.
Turkey, swiss, shredded lettuce, a little bacon and mayo.
Honey ham, swiss, goldens brown mustard.
Any one of those 4 on the perfect rye bread and you can shave my head and walk me to the chair immediately after and I'll go with a smile on my face.
Add in a big mug of cold root beer? I'll wear a Tshirt with any advertisement you want on it.
Damn, I'm hungry now.
