I can see two impact D players in round 1 with one being a LB if opportunity presents itself.
I he does not like the QB's I think he tries to trade back (maybe twice) and gets his D guys round 1 and then loads up on BPA with a focus on OL through the rest of the draft. Build outstanding D coupled with a young talented OL for when you strike for the QB in 2023.
All 3 were athletic freaks and the latter 2 (maybe all 3?) were kind of non-traditional unicorns for their positions.
Greg Rousseau also fit that profile.
Tredavious White was their other first so clearly they went defense early more than offense (though they did trade a 1st for Diggs). Not super surprising with a defensive head coach.
Daboll I could see us going with Malik Willis... Daboll coached Hurts at Alabama and then Josh Allen in Buffalo. It would be the type of QB he has had success with.

The Bills OL was not good when they took over. They built it up slowly over multiple years. Mostly via 2nd rounders and couple mid-rounders with a FA mixed in as needed (ie, Morse as C).
OL at 5. if he doesnt like martinez, he drafts dean at 7. if he like martinez who is only 28, he extends him and looks for an imapct defender whether its stingley, hamilton or an edge
Dave Gettelmans biggest blunder (and there were many) was not fixing the O-line. All this Hog Mollie talk and look what it got us, O-line must be addressed in the draft. The key question is how much? Some might argue we need 4 O-lineman, others might say 2 or 3. O-line, Linebackers, TE and a pass rusher are huge needs.

I like Brandon Smith in the 2nd round for LBer. He has one hell of a motoer
+1

Bills have picked 5 DL and 3 OL in rounds 1-3 since 2017. Last year they went DL/DL/OL/OL.
Hog Mollies 2: Electric Boogaloo
I think he's more likely to go into the year with Jones and a veteran (Mitch T?) if there isn't a QB he loves
He took Tre'Davious White in the first round in his first draft with the team
Josh Allen
Ed Oliver
Tremaine Edmunds

Quote:
with Beane at GM is 4th round. Lot of DL early. Link - ( New Window )

Beane was hired in May 2017 so he wasn't there for that draft. McDermott was hired earlier.

Beane and Schoen were hired just after the 2017 draft.
Which means they didn't draft White and did draft a QB at first opportunity.

That's a relief then considering in 2017 they traded the pick that KC used on Mahomes lol
I've been thinking the same thing
