He has the Giants going Ikem Ekwonu, OT at #5 and Devin Lloyd, LB at #7
I love both picks, but just one problem. For the umpteenth time, I believe the Giants are taking Matt Corral with their 5th pick.
Daniel Jeremiah has Kenny Pickett going #9 to Denver and Matt Corral #11 to Washington. Whether or not the Giants go QB in Round One, I do not believe Kenny Pickett gets selected before Matt Corral.

(1) I believe Matt Corral can be special. Very special;
(2) I believe a new GM & HC will want to go in a new direction at QB;
(3) They will provide Matt Corral with the best protection possible by letting Daniel Jones take majority of snaps in 2022;
(4) And if Daniel Jones somehow, someway has a great season, well, then, that's a good problem to have.
And, if the Giants do not go QB in Round One, then IMO their 5th pick will be in high demand.

Franchise QBs don't sit around waiting to be picked until you are ready. It is the most important position on the field. If you have a shot at one you get him, period.
And if Schoen and whoever he hires for HC believe one of these guys is a franchise QB, I'll be thrilled to get them this year. Plenty of good, young QBs are having success behind crappy Olines.
If the Giants do go QB at 5 or 7, that would be a pretty good sign that Mara let Schoen have full, independent authority over personnel by allowing him to walk away from Daniel Jones.
Really interesting that DJ has Bernard Raimann going so high and Cross dropping. I've read a lot about Raiman and he's very interesting.
I like McCreary the best, but Gardner is very, very good.
Good to see DJ moving Stingley down. I think his lack of productivity and health are going to be concerns.
I’ve seen others have him in the top 10.

give me the name of this 2022 franchise QB.
I guess Dean’s measurables are really concerning to NFL scouts.

Did you not understand what I wrote?
I said if Schoen and the HC feel that way. The opinion you or I have on these QBs is uninformed at best.

What would be the best way to use Dean? My guess would be as a Derrick Brooks-esque WILL linebacker in a 4-3 defense, but that's just me.
I agree, I'd take Dean over Lloyd.
Christian Harris is more NYG-like, Lloyd is very much a Bills-styled ILB too.

I like Harris, too. But Dean flat out makes plays all over the field. Lloyd was so invisible in his showcase Bowl game vs Ohio State. He has measurables but completely disappeared and played in a much lesser conference

his listed hgt/wgt is probably a little inflated too. He's likely a 4-3 WILL in the NFL, rather than an 3-4 ILB.

We all like Dean, but size and scheme fit matter, let's not just watch his UGA tape and assume he's a plug in fit here yet.

Did you watch that Utah-Ohio State game?

What do you mean by NYG-like? Given the amoeba defense extolled by Judge and Graham, I'm having a hard time with picturing what linebackers the Giants would have in mind.
The main challenges would be at the DEs since we have two DTs who work inside; Dexter Lawrence would be the "shade NT" and Leonard Williams the 3-tech. Placing a DT-sized person at a 4-3 DE spot (which a couple people on this forum have suggested) doesn't work well unless you have unreal bend like Reggie White; the Chiefs tried that this year with Chris Jones and that experiment seems to have gone awry because Jones shifted back inside by midseason and he was admittedly slow and confused.
I'm not quite sure if Azeez Ojulari would be able to hold up as a RDE since he tends to get washed out against the run.
So I'd sign a one-year flyer guy like Sheard, Houston, Clowney or Chandler Jones, get a good "crash" end in the early rounds like Hutchinson (if I can), Karlaftis, or Cameron Thomas to man the LDE spot, draft another good pass-rushing end as a project on the RDE to rotate in during later rounds, like Drake Jackson or Arnold Ebiketie.
For LBs, Martinez could most likely work as the primary MLB if his knee is okay, with Crowder as the primary backup. Having a SAM-linebacker to key tight ends would be real nice; could be Roche or a linebacker we draft. Would like to see more of Carter Coughlin on passing downs or as a possible WILL linebacker if Ojulari can't make the switch. Cam Brown is mostly on special teams

Yeah I agree Lloyd was not impressive in the Rose bowl but it’s just 1 game and also I might be wrong but I felt he was playing not to get injured in the Rose bowl. I like speed of Dean and he’s younger prospect but his size does concern me. He may need big DL to uncover him like Jordan Davis. Lloyd, his bigger but his age concerns me which is unknown lol. Harris, he played great in the final but he was disappointing during the season,so I don’t know.
I hope Schoen finds good one so we can have a great defense.

For months all we've heard are there are no franchise quarterbacks this year. The same thing happens every year. Teams that need a QB over-inflate the value of what's available as the draft gets closer because of their need. If these guys were not considered franchise QBs at the end of the college season, how can they be considered one now?
