I think lets just focus on FA and the draft. you never really know. truth is with a good draft, the giants could be a 500 team next year. its not like we were getting slaughtered when jones was playing. dont forget too, we had a ton of key injuries.
a solid draft and some manuevering of the roster would go a long way as weould a NEW coach. JJ was awful. honestly daboll hasnt been a HC and id bet he is at least 1 win bettert han judge LOL
Seattle staff. Not sure why Buffalo is the gold standard now, its just Josh Allen and mortgaging your future trading for all-world route runner Diggs (which was a good trade for now).

On the other hand, maybe you could say those were really good decisions that not every front office staff would have made?
just as we are when Beane/Schoen arrived. They wound up eating dead money to trade players who had value for draft picks to clear the decks for future moves. I'd expect we'll see something similar here this offseason.

The Bills roster isn't just Allen, Diggs and a bunch of scrubs. They've got one of the best defenses in the league.
Do not underestimate the role of Sean McDermott in turning the

I hope so, even if it means a terrible W-L record this coming season.
The Bills completely turned their drafting around.
Back before about 2017 their drafting record was just effing awful. Worse than Gettleman's if you can believe it. Choice after choice after choice was a major miss.
But in the last four or five years, they have had some very good drafts and that is the basis of their major improvements, but not the whole story.
They took a big, big, big chance on Josh Allen, who had a college reputation as an inaccurate thrower, and were able to turn him into a really good player, possibly the most dangerous QB in the league right now. He's the real key to their success.
Their OL still leaves something to be desired, but it's a lot better than it was six or seven years ago, mostly through the draft although they have turned over some draftees (like G John Miller and G Wyatt Teller) who just didn't work out the way they thought they would, but that shows just how hard it is to build a decent line in this era of spread offenses where the OLs don't have to do much beyond get in the way. They drafted OLT Dion Dawkins, who I wanted the GIANTS to take, and turned him into a pro bowler. And they signed C Mitch Morse as a vet free agent to kind of finalize it. OT Spencer Brown, drafted last spring, looks like another good find.
The rest of the supporting cast includes Dawson Knox, an emerging star TE who was a mid-round draft choice, drafted WR Gabe Davis who you don't hear a lot about but has made some big plays for them, and some key veteran acquisitions including Stefan Diggs, Cole Beasley, and Emanual Sanders. RBs Singletary and Moss aren't really anything special, but not bad, and both are draftees.
On defense, they hit gold with CB Tre White who is one of the very best in the league, and found a mid-round gem in OLB Matt Milano. MLB Tremaine Edwards is still a kid, but he can play sideline-to-sideline. Their DL is pretty deep and constantly re-inforced with guys who aren't all-pros but who can play. They don't have a dominant pass rusher, but they have several guys who can get it done. Their two excellent Safeties, Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde, were both acquired as veteran free agents in that same time frame.
And as noted, they have had some very good coaching leadership from McDermott and his staff. Daboll has done a great job with Allen and the offense, and Leslie Frazier has done a masterful job with the D.
However, somebody said that they play GIANTS football. They most definitely do not do that. Buffalo beats you with scheme, roster depth, unusual or improvised plays, great effort, and veteran smarts. They are not the most physical team around and it shows when they play teams like the Titans who beat the shit out of them physically. Just like the K-gun teams (including the one the G-men beat in the Super Bowl), pound the shit out of them physically and you can beat them.
Still, everything considered, this is the best Bills team since the Marv Levy era, a legitimate Super Bowl contender, and Schoen had a hand in building it.

They've built a quality team, but I think the one thing a lot of people overlook is that they have a hell of a HC.
Or what Spidey said.
