Always have. Underrated franchise the last few years. They win a lot of games every year and they win playoff games too. Vrabel has done an excellent job down there. This might be their year.
Love him as a player and I hope he’s not rushing back too soon. But if he’s healthy and brings his A game, the Titans will be tough to beat.
Not sure how this will play out, I like both of these teams. I’ll go Bengals 31-24, but I don’t feel confident about it because the Titans are the better team if they play at their best.
JFC, how stupid was Mara not to take a look at this guy? What a tremendous leader he is.

Don't recall who else was looking for a HC at the time, but I as a casual fan "caught wind" and thought we should also look at Vrabel, instead of doubling down on yet another WCO wizard. An abject failure on the part of the Mara-Tisch hivemind collective.
I did hear a whistle there - though the players didn’t seem to hear it
I heard the whistle too but the Ref's job is to run forward and stop the play. If I am the Bengals I am pissed that Burrow was allowed to be hit on a non play.
They were terrible all season, Burrow was the most sacked QB in the league. Some of that is on him, but he and the playmakers covered for that trash of aN OL
Cincy realizing this isn't the Raiders defense today
Aren't entirely an OL stat. Burrow getting rid of the ball faster and throwing it away mitigates that. They're bad - most knew that when they drafted the best WR prospect over the best OL prospect in the draft.
They beat the Chiefs when the Chiefs were ass for a month. That one victory gave them a tie breaker. Also they were the most consistent team, other teams had ups and downs but peaked going into the playoffs. Bills and Chiefs are better
so everything is a 3 step, short pass. This is going to really limit Chase's impact.
This is the same issue the Giants face, except our line is so bad we face it every game. Last week the Cincy OL didn't have anywhere near these problems vs Las Vegas, who has a terrible D.
Either they figure out a way to get better protection so Burrow has time to go deep, or they need to somehow get Chase involved in the short game (bubble screens, etc.). The issue with that is the Tenn D knows its coming too
I'm getting sick of all these "stat" guys, going for 2 and 4th downs
all the time, with no reflection on what is happening on the field or what the game situation is. The San Diego HC is under fire by the fans for this. They think he gave away the Raiders game, which cost them the playoffs, because of repeatedly going for 4th downs rather than take a few FGs

When I play Madden (very rarely do) I always go for it on 4th Down lol I know my defense is going to be worthless. Even if I'm on my own 3.
it's because of the great play by Burrow, Chase and the rest of the offense that they managed to get this far. If they get a decent OL next year, they'll be easy SB contenders.

Fourth down I don’t mind as much. But the two point thing down one or in a tie game drives me crazy.
There was a penalty on the Bengals so it was from 1.5 yards out. That said, I would have taken the points. This game is probably going to be close.
I generally agree.
On the other hand, when you have Derrick Henry, I can see why it's tempting to go for two.
Yes, but he is coming off a foot injury. He probably is not the Derrick Henry we are used too. I don't even think that played into him getting stopped. The Bengals played it well. Going for two there is probably the right call by the numbers there. The problem is this is the playoffs and a tight game.
No question Burrows is a tremendous talent and an AP student. But one cannot observe his game today while failing to note the amount of separation Bengals' receivers are getting in the secondary, three/four/five yards virtually every pass play. Part too is scheme success by CIN and zone by TEN not wanting to see Jamaar go to the house.

No, our problem is that we have a bad line PLUS we have an inept QB.

Only in your bizarro world are you looking to beat up a ref because the RB had an easy catch and tipped it right up to the opposing team, lol. Let’s blame the refs!!!!
Besides, I’m rooting for the Bengals but I don’t don’t want to hear a word from them after last weeks referee debacle.
Burrow could have thrown it away, but a free rusher was in his face right away. They should have either run the ball or tried a very quick pass to preserve the FG attempt. Blitzing there by Tennessee was pretty obvious.
terrible play calls. Tannehill on a QB sneak and then Henry right up the middle on fourth down. Tannehill was predictably stuffed from the shot gun, and the Bengals simply sold out to stop Henry.
pressured on any play, still manages to make plays whenever possible. There is no excuse for poor QB play on the Giants. Look at Burrow and how the OL is playing.

All due respect burrow has to pull the trigger and throw it. Holding it way too long and taking bad sacks
Screen, change tempo, give more quick outlets, but they are not adapting. Not sure you can give up 9 sacks (so far) and say you deserve to win a playoff game.
You can’t throw the ball away under pressure inside the pocket. You need a WR near the ball. And like the announcers said - they’re too far down field to give him a chance.

Brady and Brees did it for years. They chuck it at their running backs feet.

You can. You have to throw in the vicinity of a receiver. Past the LOS

Holy shit - there’s no WRs close to him - that’s why he’s getting sacked. They’re all downfield. Holy fuck - pay attention to what’s going on. The announcers have said there’s no one close, the replays shows no one close.
deserve to lose. Stupid coach on the 3rd and 4th down calls. And that INT plays was stupid also. The coach and the Tinnenhill lost the game for them. The D played their asses off and should have won.
Best 5th round draft choice last year.
Burrow is going to be an unbelievable QB with a good OL. His technique is awesome. His boundary passes were perfect and on time.
The Bengals are going to get smoked by the Bills if their offensive line plays like that again
And yes I'm presupposing the Bills are going to win tomorrow
will never lead the Titans to the Super Bowl. They need to make a decision. Russel Wilson?
Titans are in qb purgatory- hes not good enough to win with much like the chiefs were never going to win with Smith, but they had Mahomes in the wings. You don’t win titles with mediocre qbs in this league.
It'd be nice sure but Burrow proved what an elite QB can do to elevate a team.
Mom finally let yo watch your 1st football game?
SO the 3 interceptions had nothing to do with the win?
How about Cinci's defense stopping Tenn on 3rd and 4th and short?
You don't understand the Cinci WR's might be a lot better than the Giants WR's that don't play often?
Yes Burrow is a lot better but you realize without all the above happening which the Giants are also woefully inadequate doing, that there is no win, even as great as Burrow is, right?
I think your parents let you up later than they should have. Try not to post so much and let the grownups post, okay?

Fucking idiot. Probably doing it all just to make yourself feel better about Daniel Jones. How fucking pathetic
It'd be nice sure but Burrow proved what an elite QB can do to elevate a team.
All of his starting skill position players except for the TE are first or second round draft picks.
Like someone else said, Burrow is terrific, but so are his receivers and his running back.
Barkley
Engram
Shepard
Ross
Toney
Golladay (think he was 3rd rounder but got paid as one of the best WR)
The rest were guys drafted in round 1-2. That group is a lot better than what most teams have.
Burrow would do quite fine with them.
Apparently you didn't watch the Giants this year. Tell me, if you didn't watch th Ginats this year or you are blind and can't watch sports anyway, please explain how many games Shep, Golladay,Barkley and Toney played as one until this year?

I watched absolutely 0. None. Zilch.
That group is talented, the least talented is the guy missing. The one who throws it.
Burrow got sacked 9 times, got hit countless other times on plays where the whistle should have been blown, and won the fucking game.
It's his second fucking year, and he did it on the road.

that's right. The player who was an MVP candidate before breaking the fifth metatarsal in his foot and having surgery had a steel plate inserted into his foot.
Derrick Henry to play vs. Bengals with metal plates in foot, shoe - ( New Window )
Titans should win, but Bengals are a wild card because of the Burrow-Chase explosionability.

Not happening but man I’d love to get Vrabel here. All he’s done is win.
But he ain’t getting fired and they ain’t getting blown out by cincy.
This is why I changed my mind from last week. No way the bengals stop their running game.
Like you said though, the burrow chase combo is Eli to Nicks postseason scary right now.

They have been terrible all year. Burrow is good enough to largely overcome that to at least be productive.
Did they see my post? Good things happen when he gets the ball
When TEN has six or so guys on the line of scrimmage, Burrow can't hang onto it.
He's been fantastic but so has Sewell. Here in this game, people are complaining about pass pro.
Jonah Williams isn't very good. Quick hits, screens, slants, stuff like that is what they'll need to hit against an aggressive man defense.
The Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship game??
It's not a Giants problem, when the Dolphins have the worst OL in the league by every ranking.
Covid protocols.
They beat the Chiefs when the Chiefs were ass for a month. That one victory gave them a tie breaker. Also they were the most consistent team, other teams had ups and downs but peaked going into the playoffs. Bills and Chiefs are better
Nobody is hearing the whistles. On both occasions the Bengals went for big losses to 1st downs.
Poor baby. Walk it off you fucking pussy.
Should have expected this.

Tannehill sucks.

Let's see what the Bengals have in response now that their 10 point lead is gone.
First thing I'd do if I were a Bengal player or coach is throwing my fists at the refs for that interception call
If not conclusive you don’t overturn, they felt it wasn’t. Not an egregious call, We ve seen much worse
Quit slurping up refs bad calls and start swinging.
I'm starting to hate Chicago more.
I disagree. I think Buffallo is way overrated.
Coaches just get too cute
Is this the end of the Ryan Tannehill/ Derrick Henry era?

Lol. Have you been drinking? Buffalo was in the AFC Championship game last season. How are they overrated? Tune in tomorrow, buttercup.

The Bills might be the Super Bowl favorite. They have a chiefs level offense with one of the best defenses in the league

Ya and got clobbered by KC. Titans were in the championship game two years ago. Who cares?
Who'd buffalo beat last year? Old man Rivers and Lamar?
What? The Giants O line does suck
Jones stinks
It's the same damn cadence play after play.
Its the-lay calls.
Announcers said everyone's going down the field and there are no dump offs.

OL sucks anymore. My god the Bengals today may have the worst OL I’ve seen.

So does Cincy and Burrow is a MVP candidate.
All due respect burrow has to pull the trigger and throw it. Holding it way too long and taking bad sacks
Coach has to help him out also
Can hardly tell them apart, really.

Yes, yes he does.

To Dex’s defense - he may have had a few sacks tonight too. Lol

Ummm, how? Cause he gets sacked every other play in less than 3 seconds?
To whom? One of the ineligible OLs? All of the patterns were downfield.

If his O line played like they are tonight, he would not have been.
Screen, change tempo, give more quick outlets, but they are not adapting. Not sure you can give up 9 sacks (so far) and say you deserve to win a playoff game.
They are snapping the ball too late on the play clock. They should have sped up their offense with a no huddle.
Poor coaching here.
It’s not even that close.
There is ZERO comparison between the two players whatsoever
It's a combination of bad playalling, bad reads on the defense (holding onto the ball when you can throw it away) and bad line play.
Quote:
Throw the ball
To whom? One of the ineligible OLs? All of the patterns were downfield.
Then throw it away. You can’t take sacks that knock you out of FG range
Coaches are not helping but he’s gotta be smarter there
Don't worry. Jones gets compared to Rodgers and Mahomes sometimes on here lol even Allen.

You just can’t throw it away inside the pocket. It’s intentional grounding and you risk fumbling as you try to throw.
Know the game bud lol

If his O line played like they are tonight, he would not have been.
They played like this all year, except they didn’t play the Titans every week
Of course Apple caused the pick.
Again, know the rules.
Yup.
Again, know the rules.
Brady and Brees did it for years. They chuck it at their running backs feet.
Again, know the rules.
You can. You have to throw in the vicinity of a receiver. Past the LOS
Learn the rules dude
The kicker has a leg for days.
Falcons could have won a Super Bowl doing that.
Put the ball on the right hash
Quote:
You can’t throw the ball away under pressure inside the pocket. You need a WR near the ball. And like the announcers said - they’re too far down field to give him a chance.

Holy shit - there’s no WRs close to him - that’s why he’s getting sacked. They’re all downfield. Holy fuck - pay attention to what’s going on. The announcers have said there’s no one close, the replays shows no one close.
My god.
Lay off the booze
So he is the opposite of Daniel Jones?
Quote:
Daniel Burrow!

Look, it's hard to tell them apart - right?
I’m thinking Titans are trying to swing a trade for a QB or potentially make a big move up in the draft.
The receiver was wide freaking open.
The Franchise.
Apple made a good play, wasn't really Tannehill's fault. WR let Apple go right through him to make the play.
Quote:
Love how Apple and Jenkins get targeted in crunch time...

Yeah, that was a Engram/Randle style route.
Idk if burrow ever actually considered it, but the idea of him pulling an Eli because CIN was that bad was bandied about heading into the draft.
And now they're in the AFCCG
He’s really good. He also has really good receivers.
Burrow is going to be an unbelievable QB with a good OL. His technique is awesome. His boundary passes were perfect and on time.
Then Bengals wouldn't have won.

Agree. But throwing the ball in traffic at your 50 with 15 seconds to go.
Moron. Apple is just another stud that Giants let go....
;- )
Probably not. But hard to overcome 3 ints.
I have a man crush on Joe Cool
And yes I'm presupposing the Bills are going to win tomorrow
Titans are in qb purgatory- hes not good enough to win with much like the chiefs were never going to win with Smith, but they had Mahomes in the wings. You don’t win titles with mediocre qbs in this league.
Don’t know if he is in play but I posted a similar thought. Vrabels a good HC but he has to advance further to stick imv. Nature of NFL.
All of his starting skill position players except for the TE are first or second round draft picks.
Like someone else said, Burrow is terrific, but so are his receivers and his running back.
OL isn’t great, but come the fuck on - his skill players are off the fucking chart. Mixon? Chase?
Quote:
their quarterback sacked 9 times?
Probably not. But hard to overcome 3 ints.
Statmuse has the answer.
Only one other QB had ever been sacked nine times in a playoff (Warren Moon) and he lost.
McNabb was sacked eight times vs Green Bay in the 2004 playoffs and won.
statmuse - ( New Window )
Mom finally let yo watch your 1st football game?
SO the 3 interceptions had nothing to do with the win?
How about Cinci's defense stopping Tenn on 3rd and 4th and short?
You don't understand the Cinci WR's might be a lot better than the Giants WR's that don't play often?
Yes Burrow is a lot better but you realize without all the above happening which the Giants are also woefully inadequate doing, that there is no win, even as great as Burrow is, right?
I think your parents let you up later than they should have. Try not to post so much and let the grownups post, okay?
Quote:
It'd be nice sure but Burrow proved what an elite QB can do to elevate a team.

Barkley
Engram
Shepard
Ross
Toney
Golladay (think he was 3rd rounder but got paid as one of the best WR)
The rest were guys drafted in round 1-2. That group is a lot better than what most teams have.
Burrow would do quite fine with them.
Only one, but he threw it on GB's first play in OT (after Eagles had gone 3 and out) and it led to the winning FG.
I had forgotten that, but I'm sure Packers' fans hadn't when he threw the INT vs NYG three year later.
The most famous thing about that GB-Philly game is the Eagles converting a key 4th and 26.
That happened on the FG drive that sent the game to OT in the last seconds of regulation.
A big sack of McNabb had created the 4th and 26.
