Aaron Rodgers Legacy

IMO, it takes a massive hit. Another playoff loss at home as a favorite.

I think the break up happens this off-season.

The third string TE dropped a 40 yard catch. His line couldn’t block to save their lives. Show me tape where Lazard Cobb or st brown got open once.

He’s arrogant and most here hate his politics so i get the hate.

But maybe if the packers had drafted a receiver for him to compliment Adams instead of drafting Love things would be different this time of year.

People can’t stop blowing Burrow - how does chase Higgins Boyd mixon and uzameh compare to the trash Rodgers threw to tonight?

Lmao. The trash he threw to tonight? I’m sorry, was Adam’s not on the field?

Rodgers failed. Plain and simple.

Yup Adams and Jones had 230 yards receiving. What other weapons did he have and what did they do tonight? How many turnovers did Rodgers have?

Lmao. What weapons did Jimmy G have other than Samuel? Your argument is garbage. Rodgers failed yet again in yet another big moment. Plain and simple. Stop making excuses.

Peyton was terrible during his second SB run. His defense carried him. Folks forget how many times Peyton choked in the playoffs. It became comical.

And if Marlon Jackson didn't get a gift INT from Brady on the last drive of the game in the '06 AFC/CG, the Pats were threatening, Manning may only have one SB.

He was under duress all game. He made some plays happen his team failed him big time. Tough elements. Hits Aaron jones before half jones doesn’t get out of bounds. Burns a timeout leads to blocked field goal. Early 4th quarter tight end drops an easy open catch on 3rd down. Leads to punt. Blocked punt turns into game tying touchdown. That’s 10 point swing off of special teams!

How is that on Rodgers? Nobody besides Rodgers, Adams and jones showed up today for the packers. Missing their left tackle was big. They had no running game as well. Was a tough tough day for the packers. I don’t fault Aaron on this one.

Jokes aside, I agree with this take. Rodgers wasn't great tonight, but he would've been good enough had Green Bay's field goal and punt block protection not overslept the game.

That’s the problem with todays sports. I don’t care how many turnovers he has. He led his team to 10 points.

He was lost all night. He was fooled repeatedly. He stunk.

He had 9 incomplete passes all night of which three were brutal drops. He hit his only two weapons all night for 230 yards. They had a 32 yard FG blocked - that’s apparently his fault too cause everyone here said he only scored 10 points. Burrow only scored 19 today with a kicker that made 2 fifty yarders but whatever lol.

It’s about his politics for most here. It’s fine, just admit it

He lost the super bowl for them two years ago. If he has to go win a game for them now he won't do it. The only reason they got out of there with a win was because of their special teams. They could have been playing until tomorrow afternoon and Jimmy G would not have gotten them into the endzone

He is now 5-4 at home in the playoffs with a homefield advantage second to none in January. At least 3 of those losses were to wild card teams. What's Brady's record at home in the playoffs? 24-7?

So just to be clear - in 10 degree snow he drives his team for 13 points but his kicker can’t make a 32 yarder. Burrow scores 19 points as his kicker hits two 50 yarders and in large part because the other qb gave him the ball in plus territory twice - one is the next Brady and the other is a choke artist.

Got it. Last I checked this is a team game - he had no time to throw and two weapons - those weapons had 18 catches for 230 yards. Maybe if the packers cared about championships they’d use first round picks on receivers and tightends and not backup Qbs and not give useless trash like cobb and Lazard 100 snaps tonight

Do you think that, just perhaps, the difference in response to Burrow and Rodgers is that Burrow is in his first complete year on the NFL and Rodgers is in his 17th and has lost at home as a favored high seed multiple times?

I think he’s an idiot off the field but think he’s a phenomenal player on it and it pisses me off they haven’t surrounded him with a cast most other qbs get at various points in their careers. An incredible waste - and they have one of the nicest fan bases in America and so they deserve better too - including a friend who worked in their organization for 15 years.

The Dillon injury really hurt them tonight too - his style is perfect for this weather.

On what planet wasn’t that a good throw
MetsAreBack : 1/22/2022 11:51 pm : link
To Jones ? Jones broke stride because he’s not a WR - knocking him for that is absurd.

You call it broken coverage - I call it a defense biting on a team deep in its own end on 3rd and 5 or whatever to end a half. It was a smart play call that happens all the time in this league.

I think that is fair to say about many of these posts, including yours.

LOL - better cast?! Adams, Cobb etc isn’t enough??

He is very good in the regular season. He is less effective in the playoffs the same way Peyton Manning was. His team wins 12 games every year. He is not winning these games alone with a Giants like roster.

Packers fans are generally good people. But Rodgers is a different - and lesser - QB in the playoffs. There are enough data points to start drawing conclusions.
I got told that critiquing Rodgers and his habit of choking

When his playoff games are on the line is an "Amateur take" by MetsAreBack.

He refuses to tell me what the "Pro-take" is and as a matter of fact disappeared off of that game thread when GB lost.

Rodgers gets the ball with 4 mins left. he has all his excellent weapons, plenty of time on the clock (4 mins), his time outs...Everything a QB would want with a playoff game on the line. Rodgers proceeds to go 3 and out at this point.

Now keep in mind that GB waltzed down the field on their opening drive and scored a TD. That SF did not complete a pass until 6 mins left in the 1st half. That Rodgers had 170 yards passing in the 1st half. That SF turned the ball over twice at crucial times in the game. That SF's receivers couldn't catch a cold in the 1st half. That Jimmy G made 3 more brain-dead throws in the course of the game.

Yeah SF special teams and Defense were spectacular. But you're Aaron "man-bun" Rodgers and considered the best QB in the NFL. Yet with your biggest game of the year, at home, a chance for an SB on the line, four (4) mins left to put this game to bed, with Davonte Adams you go three (3) and out. You don't even get close, no you go three (3) and out with three (3) mind-numbing passing decisions.

Does anyone want to bet he blames everyone but himself?

I find it bizarre how defensive some Giants fans get over Rodgers.

The Giants had a real shot to make some noise in 2010, even after the Dodge game, but Rodgers took the Giants behind the shed the day after Christmas.
Very arrogant post montana

I’m not conversing with you on a game thread - you had a needlessly theatric take on a guys career based on one drive to set your narrative. As if one drive in a divisional round makes or breaks a guys legacy.

Who are all these weapons you speak of? And how much time in the pocket did Rodgers have to make throws? Who was open that he didn’t see?

I’ll wait

When you have to use 11-year-old remembrances you really have a weak-ass argument. But you do you!

That’s the problem with todays sports. I don’t care how many turnovers he has. He led his team to 10 points.

He was lost all night. He was fooled repeatedly. He stunk.

He had 9 incomplete passes all night of which three were brutal drops. He hit his only two weapons all night for 230 yards. They had a 32 yard FG blocked - that’s apparently his fault too cause everyone here said he only scored 10 points. Burrow only scored 19 today with a kicker that made 2 fifty yarders but whatever lol.

It’s about his politics for most here. It’s fine, just admit it

Not about politics for me. I’m actually in enemy territory and am in lockstep with all of AR’s beliefs that made him public enemy number 1. I respect him now. But the man chokes when it count. He has been terrible in the playoffs its hard to ignore at this point. Don’t hold him to trubisky standards. He flopped tonight he flipped against Tampa and he flopped against us in 2011. He’s no Eli

By the way, my "Narrative" is spot on for just about Rodgers's whole career. Tell us all again what Rodgers's record is as the #1 seed playing at home?? What game can you point to as a playoff game that Rodgers put the team on his shoulders and got them the win?

P.S. What regular season weapons was he lacking pray tell?
Part of his legacy is one of losing

In big playoff moments.

He is a top legendary QB and there is no taking that away from him. But he has some serious blemishes on his postseason record.
How did Rodgers
pjcas18 : 1/23/2022 12:06 am : link
exactly choke?

I don't defend Rodgers, but I didn't see Rodgers choke in that game. Sometimes the other team wins. For example, in SB XLII I didn't think Brady choked for the highest scoring offense in NFL history only scoring 14 points. I felt like the Giants D played lights out. Kind of like how SF did today.

And some facts, in the playoffs in his career Rodgers is (before today) 65% completion percent, 45 TDs/13 INT for 5600+ yards and a 100+ rating over 21 games

in those 21 games he's had a rating below 90 just 3 times (and one of those games in the year he won the SB).

That does not sound like the guy I'd blame and call a choker for the team results in the playoffs. Sometimes you can look at the QB stats and pin it on him, I don't see it.

No one said he was terrible. But there have been too many times he had the ball to win the game and didn’t come through. You can’t blame the surrounding cast like others are when that cast is the reason why you won MVP(s).

He didn’t get it done tonight. Plain and simple.

LMAO, you have yet to show anything to substantiate your argument other than you running your mouth and then running away on that game thread when he lost.

You want to play expert, then step the fuck up Ace, and do so. All you have done tonight is run your mouth without any kind of facts to support your take. You come across as all kinds of butthurt and want to go after me for my take on Rodgers yet you have not pulled anything out to disprove what I wrote. The reason for that is because you have zip to do so.

The arrogance you want to whine about comes from you due to the fact you got nothing to disprove what I posted yet you want to imply you're "the pro" while I'm "the amateur" without one aspect to show that. You need to truly get over yourself because none of us on this board are pros or experts in any take we have.

It does hurt him in comparison to Brady who is lapping the field in terms of playoff accomplishments.

Peyton got the 2nd ring - helped his legacy a lot.

Peyton was terrible during his second SB run. His defense carried him. Folks forget how many times Peyton choked in the playoffs. It became comical.

It's true. This is all accurate.
The surrounding cast is not why he won mvp cmon now
MetsAreBack : 1/23/2022 12:13 am : link
Maybe Adams - sure. But what good qb doesn’t have at least one weapon.

As for regular season weapons - ummm Dillon was lost at halftime, MVS didn’t play and Tonyan was lost midseason. And more importantly their line went through about 15 iterations and they couldn’t get Baktieri on the field for like the last 14 games or something

It’s just lazy nonsense to blame him for tonight. He didn’t have a pocket all night and his receivers outside of Adams don’t make most nfl rosters.

To be fair, Cobb is there because Rodgers desperately wanted him there and they got him.
