Someone is going to have to be moved to open up more minutes for Reddish. His defense is is his calling card which they need on the floor. SO who gets moved?

Fournier will be moved. Its clear Thibs isn't a fan.
Perhaps as part of a package for Jalen Brunson (FA next summer but there are strong ties between NYK and Brunson); something like Fournier, Quickley for Brunson, Bullock, Klieber.

They are going to make a trade, you dint trade for someone who requested a trade to get a bigger role and then give him a smaller role and less minutes, just doesnt make sense and you piss off agents that way..

Obi and either quick or Grimes and their first back for Brunson and filler..
Kemba either traded or bought out..
Noel for filler and a 2nd..
Brunson/rose
Fournier/quick or Grimes
Rj/Burks
Randle/reddish
Mitch/Gibson
Id Like Burks traded for a pick but i dont think they do it because Thibs likes him
I would hang on to Noel, Mitch hasn’t been durable enough to move Nerlens. The guy I would move is Burks. Let Reddish get the ~15 minutes behind RJ. Can maybe get a late first for Burks.

Agreed. Burks and Kemba are the easily moveable parts right now.
I am packaging Brunson with Porzingis and trying to get as much back as possible. Boston is an interesting fit since Brown/Tatum wont work and Schoeder wont be back in Boston next year.

Porzingis, Brunson, and picks for brown?
Salary of that works. The trade would represent a major failure for DAL though. Not sure BOS would take that either.
Idk. Seems like DAL and NYK are the best fits for each other.
Porzingis would seem better suited for a different trade, so they can maximize Brunson's value

I hate to be the bearer of bad news.... but Brunsons value is something the Knicks dont have.
Dallas, who is a playoff team, is not trading their 2nd/3rd best player for Obi, Grimes, or Quick. No chance. Obi cant get off the bench for a .500 team. And Dallas/Luka LOVES Kleber - so Obi is not that attractive to them.

That's fine. Brunson is a good fit for the Knicks, but it's not the end of the world if they can't trade for him at the deadline. There's a chance they can sign him in the offseason. And even still, Deuce may end up being a starting PG when Thibs is gone and a newer coach isn't as averse to playing kids.
I think Dallas holds onto him in the playoffs and lose him in the offseason.
Dallas is like the 5th or 6th seed. I cant see them getting rid of them for bench help.
It doesn't make sense for them to trade him since there's no way they've improving this year's team with the trade. I bet the Knicks get him in the offseason. Lines up too perfectly.

The Knicks took Monty Williams despite the fact their own team doctor said he shouldn't be allowed to play in the NBA due to the risks. David Falk (Williams agent) suggested he retire, and the Knicks took him anyway, instead stationing an ambulance in the tunnels on game day. Nuts.

how Rolando Blackman pissed off Riley asking to have the wives be allowed to attend the finals and there is a strong belief this is why Riley was so hesitant to go to him in game 7.
- The Heat basically tampered in order to land Riley. Riley discussed leaving the Knicks if he didn't get an ownership stake and Riley's friend Dick Butera was a potential buyer of the Heat. He and Arison worked together to land Riley.

Might work out better for the Knicks if it happens in the offseason. Maybe they could then trade Fournier plus one of Obi, Grimes and Quickley, rather than 2 of the young guys, to make the salaries work.

Honestly, maybe the Fournier contract looks attractive in the offseason and nets a second or two. They don't have to go through DAL in the offseason.
Cavs are good but this is every game with the Knicks
Team built with no vision- has some good players but no vision of what they want it to look like
Rose hasnt been able to make that move, they are in that stage where the Nets were before they got Durant...Not saying Knicks will get a player like that, but right now they are just collection of players until they get that guy..
Barrett or Reddish should be in over him right now.
nah why would you play the 6 foot 8 young athketic wing with a 7 foot wingspan, who is 22, why would you play that guy over a 30 year old who cant move?
Two years ago, the new Knicks regime counseled patience and that the Knicks would work to build up their assets.
But then last year, they were so ahead of that plan, that the management team decided to get in further and signed expensive, 30-somethings like Walker and Fournier.
Well, it’s time to realize the first strategy was the one. Lean into the young players and see what they can get for Burks, Walker, maybe Noel. I would love to see the Knicks trade Randle but his play and attitude have been awful and I don’t believe any team is going to take a player like that right now.
They should get as much time as they can for RJ, IQ, Obi, Cam, Grimes and Deuce. Of course that means the lottery but that’s better than losing a play-in game.

If Obi starts to shoot like he has tonight. They might make a play in with the kids playing the bulk of the minutes.

If you lose play in your in lottery..
I think the youth should get the majority kf minutes with vets sprinkled in
he took out one of his best players tonight after making a 3, ofr what? that lineup was playing great defense moving the ball and scoring..
I mean come on..The youth clearly gives you the best chance to win and you sit there and give the vets more minutes..
The fact Randle came back into this game was an absolute joke and then you run the final play for him instead of trying to get Grimes who was hot from 3
How about Randle grabbing a reb every once in awhile and not letting the ice cold Cavs get tons of 2nd chances in the 4th especially leading to that Garland dagger...
Need to trade Kamba and Burks. Maybe see if someone will take
Agree. The criticism of him is that he played to win and used vets too much. Correct on point 2 but I don't see that he's playing to win. I know we're the armchair amateurs but I've been around hoops a long time, played a lot back in the day, and Thibs just seems blind to the obvious.
NBA referees routinely call the littlest of foot shuffles as travels.

I get Thibs coaches to win, but how can he not see how mich better this team plays when the youth is on the court..
Any coach in the NBA right now would not be playing 2 bigs at all times..its clunky and makes your team slow and easy to defend..
Has changed Randles career. I mean having a bad series isn’t uncommon, but it has shook him. He doesn’t even seem like a good candidate when you were thinking this guy could be the captain of New York.
Really is unexplainable. His trade value has sunk. Change of scenery may be in order. And that’s something you wouldn’t have even thought about last year.
Last play wasn’t intended for Randle, but Wade was holding RJ.
sport where the refs make conscious decisions to change how they officiate at pivotal points in the game and ignore blatant penalties that they obviously see. It’s such a joke and I don’t know how anyone can take this league seriously.
RE: NBA referees routinely call the littlest of foot shuffles as travels.
But somehow missed Garlands foot shuffle followed by 5 STEPS before taking that three pointer? At a pivotal point in the game?
Yeah, tell me that referees don’t control outcomes of games.
Can't wait to get the final 2 minute officiating report for tonight on Wednesday telling us the refs fucked us a once again and there should have been a travel called there. That always makes me feel so much better. Just like the Minnesota report telling us the they fucked us 3 times in the final 2 minutes...
3 boards and 4 assists but 0 for 4 from the field and -3, Reddish couldnt get those minutes?
Kemba and Fournier played a combined 40 minutes, 7 for 17, 1 for 9 from 3, 1 assist and 15 points, you mean to tell me those 40 minutes cant be spread out more to Grimes and Quick and a couple to Reddish and get better production?
Just sit Kemba until a trade or buyout can happen please
He is the real deal.
twin towers + Garland have been excellent
twin towers + Garland have been excellent
Garland should be an all star, he is their engine and is making the game easy for Mobley..
If they move Obi or Randle would he be able to man the 4?

It may be a marginal guy, maybe like a Dj Augustin or a PG like that
Uh oh. Starting?
sounds like allen is out
and of course Thibs takes them all out 6 minutes left in the 2nd..
Stubborn rigid Thibs
Grimes/IQ
RJ/Reddish
Obi/Taj
Mitch/Noel
Just to see what that would look like. Without Randle, Fournier or Kemba.
Its why the offense sucks, you cant constsntly play half court, but of course the athletic players play 5 minutes or dont play
Love has been great this year off the bench. Hitting a ton of 3's
Reddish said he wasnt ready for big minutes yet because kf the ibjury and learning the playbook..
In 2 weeks if there hasnt been a trade and he still isnt playing then be pissed
Grimes/IQ
RJ/Reddish
Obi/Taj
Mitch/Noel
Just to see what that would look like. Without Randle, Fournier or Kemba.
I think a lot of people would be on board with this.
Need to move Fournier sooner rather than later.
Fake outrage from Thibs, his hustle and athletic guys play 10 minutes a game
because thibs sits his athletic players
and then he makes a sub and goes with 2 slower players..
Playing 2 bigs doesnt work when neither can shoot consistently..
and play 40 minutes
Cavs are good but this is every game with the Knicks
Because there is always a slow ass center just standing there

With bad ball movement look very poor in spurts

This should be like the Detroit game a few weeks back. Besides RJ I don't wanna see a starter the rest of the damn night.
Its laughable at this point..
The youth is clearly better than the vets and Thibs refuses to changd
He used his left hand there.
But then last year, they were so ahead of that plan, that the management team decided to get in further and signed expensive, 30-somethings like Walker and Fournier.

Can't wait to get the final 2 minute officiating report for tonight on Wednesday telling us the refs fucked us a once again and there should have been a travel called there. That always makes me feel so much better. Just like the Minnesota report telling us the they fucked us 3 times in the final 2 minutes...
The athleticism and length of some lineups you could make with the youth and that doesnt include Mcbride who is a pest defensively but is long..
Even if they dont shoot well their defense would lead to a lot of transition baskets..
Are they stars? no but it would be fun to watch them grow together with a couple of vets to help them and be role players
Knicks would have to pay it but the cap hit would go to the acquiring team.
Adding 15% to 4/29M translates to a 4/33.6M cap hit.
I doubt teams are watching Randle and saying, yeah, I want to take that on.
Let alone give up anything for it.
it wasnt bad ina sense they dint get blown out, basically youth played well and the vets played like crap..
Randle of course got free reign to do whatever even though he was horrible

I would trade him for a bag of balls at this point

So annoying.
Kemba and Fournier played a combined 40 minutes, 7 for 17, 1 for 9 from 3, 1 assist and 15 points, you mean to tell me those 40 minutes cant be spread out more to Grimes and Quick and a couple to Reddish and get better production?
58 minutes of crap handed to the vets

If they kept that young core and played them, they would be a 50 win team within 3 years
