I posted that he told me Joe was on his way while Peters was interviewing. He works in Buffalo’s front office.
I can easily believe that Schoen wants Daboll and Daboll wants Dorsey.
I have a harder time believing that Buffalo will let Dorsey leave. They don't have to, he's still under contract, and as everyone says, they seem to want him as Daboll's replacement.

Please note: I think it’s likely that Dorsey calls plays for the Bills next season. But if Daboll is creating his staff under no certain impressions, he’s going to call for Dorsey as his coordinator.
not sure why Dorsey would leave the Bills for the Giants when both would offer him the same position.
Makes no sense.
IF both teams offer him the OC position, then staying put is probably his best option. But not sure the Bills can block anyone on their staff from taking OC job with Giants if they have not accepted OC job with Bills. Regardless, I am less concerned about the potential OC if Daboll is the HC.
odd move by Dorsey to follow Daboll rather than take the OC gig with the Bills.
The Bills offense would be his, McDermott is a defensive guy so he really wouldnt have to answer to anyone and could run the offense the way he wants to.
If Daboll gets Giants job even if he gives up play calling you have to figure his fingerprints are going to be all over the offense.
I'd love to have Dorsey with him as the OC, but Dorsey preferring the Giants situation over the Bills at OC would be shocking to say the least.
They blocked Daboll from interviewing with the Giants, they sure as shit aren’t letting Dorsey out of the building to follow Daboll and suddenly be short two coaches.
If the Giants want Dorsey they probably need to make him HC.

To clarify… Blocked Daboll from interviewing for Judge’s OC.
I think there's a difference from someone who knows Daboll's thinking vs what would actually definitely happen. But I appreciate the intel and insight, it's fun and interesting re: Martindale especially.

Why would it be odd? You were just saying last night that McDermott may not recover from that loss last night. Staff could be fired after next year if they fall short. While the Giants will be bad, maybe it brings more security going with Daboll now.
Appreciate the insight here. Sounds like you got a good inside source (s). Since you do, what does your FO contact think of Schoen and Daboll? Does he believe schoen will bring other FO people to NYG?
Hopefully we can get a competent one as well as some players
This is the coaching position I am most concerned about. Munchak is available and he would be an incredible addition to the new staff. He is arguably the best OL coach in the NFL.
The fastest track to HC is continue to ride the comet that is Josh Allen.
Giants OC gig can send him into oblivion if it doesn’t work and he get fired.
Only way I see this is if somehow Buffalo wants to hire another OC or he sets aside what’s easier and instead wants a major challenge to turn around NYG..
not sure why Dorsey would leave the Bills for the Giants when both would offer him the same position.
Makes no sense.
Maybe he and Daboll are exceptionally close?
Giants offer more money?
I think there are a host of reasons for making either case.
But I agree, I’m hearing Buffalo will promote Dorsey if Daboll leaves. So for Dorsey to leave a great thing in Buffalo to come to our mess….wow, that’s either Balsy or crazy.

Would be interesting if Giants went after Dorsey for OC, but picked one of the Defensive candidates for HC. Then Dorsey could not be blocked for a promotion without firing Daboll.
If Daboll is hired, can't the Giants immediately request permission to speak with Dorsey for their OC position? Bills and Dorsey would still need to accept getting promoted to OC in Buffalo, which if he turns down means he wants the Giants OC position

They won't have a choice. It would be a promotion for Dorsey. Just bc Buffalo offers Dorsey OC, doesn't mean he must accept.
It all depends on whether or not working in NY/getting out of Buffalo/and/or working with Daboll is worth more to Dorsey than the job security that working with Josh Allen for the foreseeable future would afford him.
And I doubt Buffalo lets Dorsey leave. Allen was raving about him earlier.

Yes, as was Schoen from about week 13 on. He’s who Schoen wants.
And I doubt Buffalo lets Dorsey leave. Allen was raving about him earlier.
Can Buffalo block Dorsey from leaving for a promotion? I don’t think it matters if they offer him a promotion. Am I missing something?

They could offer him the same job in Buffalo. He's currently just a QBs Coach. A way of blocking.
Makes no sense.

Unless Dorsey would rather work for Daboll than McDermott.
Makes no sense.
Agreed. A few successful years with Josh Allen and he’ll be a head coach soon

To paraphrase Groucho Marx, I don't want an OC that is willing to be the Giants' OC

Coaching blocks got changed in March of 2020. Teams can no longer block assistants getting coordinator interview requests

Allen would be more appealing. May depend on how close he is to Daboll.
