Weather models are coming closer to agreement of a big storm. Just gotta see how fast it intensifies going up the coast and how close to the coast it gets. Sorry I’m just a weather nerd, lol. Anyway, tomorrow you might start to see the forecast get more fine tuned once a piece of energy that’s in the pacific (crucial to storm development) actually gets to the US. Trending towards a huge NE I-95/New England storm. Definitely your classic Nor’easter. Might even be a blockbuster. We’ll see.
In the Hudson valley, this website is awesome.
Link - ( New Window )
It is a good website but both it and the Hudson Valley weather forecasters on the local channel are saying this one's up in the air- not clear what we're going to get here in the HV. Maybe a lot, or it may be to the east and be a big New England storm I'm sure we'll get something, but what is t/b/d right now.
7-12" here in Norwalk. The snow blower is ready and we have plenty of firewood, booze and food in the house. Let it snow.
Now if I could only convince the wife that the cigar smoke will just go out the chimney I'd be golden :-)
Up Route 7 in Ridgefield, Accuweather says the potential is for over a foot.
The overnight (0z) model runs will probably be telling. The main uncertainty right now is whether the storm will go more east, bringing the really heavy snow to eastern New England and just glancing NYC metro, or more west which would slam a much greater area.
For these storms. He gives detailed 20 minute periscopes going through the technical stuff. As of 9 tonight he said the snow maps will come out tomorrow morning when they run the models but he said if the Euro model is correct this could be a monster for us and especially NE. He feels we're looking at a foot or more around NYC and more in NE. He's not perfect but he usually has a good handle on these storms.
RE: RE: it's been fluctuating since it's still early, but latest shows

yes just heard for now that further east, more snow, but should be an real snow event throughout the area.

I’m on the shoreline in Milford, not far from you, I’ve seen forecasts ranging from 6-12 inches of snow starting Friday night and through Saturday. I don’t mind a good snowstorm on a Saturday, gives plenty of time for clearing snow, along with cooking and watching football.
I’m with you on the cigars though, I get banished by my fiancé to the back deck…solo stove comes in handy for that:)

nice area. my son works at Dick's Sporting Goods there. He lives in West Haven, he's a senior at SCSU.
mfsd, the prejudice from the ladies re cigars is painful LOL
My cigar shop in SoNo, Cigar Factory Outlet had a great lounge for years, but they ended it because they needed the space for their real business of importing and distributing. It was great to have on a cold winter Saturday.

Nice to meet you neighbor! What beach are you near? I'm seeing 12"- 18" for us.

Never went there, I'll usually meet buddies at the Cigar Lounge in Orange, or Mickey Blake's, which recently moved from Milford to Orange too

Nice. At least you have place near by. I heard there's on in Stamford on Bank Street. My friend and I are going to check it out.
Nice to meet you neighbor! What beach are you near? I'm seeing 12"- 18" for us.
I'm in Wildemere Beach, just down from Walnut Beach. Was over in Woodmont for a little while before moving here. How about you?
Gulf Beach, i'm on one of the sides streets off Gulf Street.
I'm down in your area a lot in the summer. We go to Walnut Beach Creamery often, and there's some cool spots opening up there soon, if not already (my wife is on the DMBA so she gets the scoop on all the things happening in MIlford).
European Model...look at Long Island and the Jersey shore! Link - ( New Window )
That can't happen right? Right?
I may have read somewhere along the way that the European model is usually more reliable than any of the other models used? Can one of the amateur weathermen here verify that claim?

Haha yup you can find us in line at WB Creamery often in the summertime. Saw there's a new coffee shop opening soon nearby too.
I love Gulf Beach, a friend lives over on Old Field Lane, probably close to you. I go swimming from the beach there with friends in the summer a lot
10-15 inches in Fairfield County is most likely scenario Link - ( New Window )
yes, that seems to be the consensus now too. I just brought more firewood into the garage and moved the snow blower to the front of the garage by the door.
Sorry to hear that you live in Dallas. ⭐🤮

You must live near my parents (Ashburnham, MA). My dad loves the snow so he'll be pumped if ends up being a storm like that!
Storm tracks change. TV weather casters will predict the worst case scenario, because no one tunes in for 1"-2"
Whatever. The only prediction you can count on is that the Weather Channel will give it a cute name like Lenny.
It'll all melt eventually

We are expecting 14-18" Sat here in the Merrimack River valley along the Ma/NH border.

I guess that would depend on your definition of 'work week'.
It seems like all big Winter storms hit on Friday, or Saturday.
He moved down south
May never see snow again

I'm going to sit here from 1000 miles away and watch on the ring cam as she shovels a foot of snow.
Let's hope it misses central NJ.

Same here in Oakland but this is just for show. The real stuff comes later.

Just hoping we dont lose power for an extended time. Worst we had was like 6 days a few years ago.
