Do Giants insist on health evaluations on administrative

plato : 1/25/2022 4:32 pm
hires as they do with players? I ask this because looking at Coach Daboll and his neck if he were in my office would raise questions about Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). This is relative to selecting a head coach because OSA especially if untreated causes physical ailments but also adversely effects mental performance and thinking.

This should concern those responsible for his hiring especially if his neck is as large as it appears in his photos; 17.5 and greater virtually diagnostic, although it requires testing.

I raised this because another thread a poster said “he didn’t like fat coaches” and of course BBI jumped all very, him. I am not aiming prejudice here but medical concern and.observation. Also since, the teams subject their players to unbelievable scrutiny, I would subject rest of coaching, medical, and FO personnel to same.
Interesting take.

Makes me think about how many other coaches have the same issue. Also Mike Glennon should be safe.
I think it you bring up a valid concern

but there have been many fat neck HC's who have had success. Look forward to seeing the best pics on this thread.
When hiring employees

unless there are direct physical requirements to perform the job (ex. heavy lifting), the answer is no and you probably cannot. You cannot ask about the prospective employee's general state of health or whether they have some medical condition.
Thanks Coach...

Here's a pen, I just need your John Hancock on the line there and we are all set. We are so excited to have you join us. Oh wait, real quick, can Jimmy here measure your neck and take your blood pressure? Won't take but a sec!

Phillips, Arians, Ryan... So many winning coaches that have necks over 17"... I think you're reaching for a way to fat shame without calling him fat. I mean... It works, sure, but it's almost as obvious as our 2022 offensive play calling.
(and use the term offensive, here, as "insulting" and not in terms of having to do with NFL Offense)

That is not a very flattering picture of Daboll;

and I have serious concerns about whether he can hold his own if he gets into a fight with the offensive line coach.

Physical findings. 17.5” neck in men critical marker. If I were hiring a GM or HC I would check it in some way. Of course OSA treated with CPAP is another story but weight loss is best but very difficult.’

Again this coach was a safety in college? Something happened and it could effect his lite let alone getting a prime coaching job.

Maybe it’s just a terrible photo

Cut 2/3rds of the team for being at risk of sleep apnea……..

BTW the belly and “barrel” chest probably is a bigger risk factor than a 17.5 neck. I have a 17.5 inch neck and only weigh 195lbs, most HS wrestlers have thick necks.
While I don't think it's a condition of employment
Daniel in MI : 1/25/2022 7:15 pm : link
sleep apnea killed someone I know who was quite heavy, and his wife now insists all his friends get assessed. I had a moderate case and use a cpap.

So, just as a PSA, if you snore loudly or are at risk, get assessed. They have take home devices for the initial assessment. You don't want to miss the team finally turning it around.
If you’re being facetious then bravo

The only time I met Andy Reid out in the wild down here was when he was at a candy shop. Because of course.
