Giants have 11 picks

Alamo : 1/25/2022 6:31 pm
In the 2022 NFL Draft...Love to see them make a deal to get another 2nd round pick..Would a 3rd & 4th round pick be good enough to get a 2nd rd pick ?
Or do we have to add a 5th rd also? We would still have 9 rookie picks if we did a 3 for 1..
We need 2 Offensive lineman..1 Edge & 1 LB or CB/S.
These 4 should be good enough to start for us..
Just trade

Barkley or Jones or both.
Try again

The Giants only have 9 picks,
2 in the 1st, 1 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd, 1 in the 4th. 2 in the 5th and 1 in the 6th, 0 in the 7th
Actually 9 picks
GeoMan999 : 1/25/2022 6:40 pm : link
2 in 1st, 1 in 2nd, 2 in 3rd, 1 in 4th, 2 in 5th, 1 in 6th, and none in 7th.
Depends on who you trade with.

Our third round pick isn't much lower than some team's second round pick.
We have 11 picks

And no way do we give up picks to acquire a 2nd. This years draft is deep af. We should prob trade pick 7 and get a lower 1 along with a 2 and a 3. We have so many holes and our in such dire need of young talent w controllable salary. I agree with obtaining and extra 2 and a 3 put not at the cost of losing any draft picks.

Go to PFN mock draft simulator. Thank me later
Yes 11 Picks, But As Always

Trade down from #5 to #9 with Denver (so Denver can jump ahead of Carolina to pick a QB) and the Giants get Denver's 2022 2nd rounder (40th overall I think). Keep #7.

I actually did that earlier today and wound up with a 22-man draft.
Re-confirming that they have 9 picks.

2 in the first, 1 in the second, 2 in the third, 1 in the fourth, 2 in the fifth, and 1 in the sixth round.

PFN has its head up its ass again.

Nine.

Conditional 7th for Santos’s was voided when he was released. Giants original 7 went to Baltimore in Price trade. The extra 7th in Bredesen trade is 23, not 22.
The pick count confusion is probably from 7th round trades.
Red Dog : 1/25/2022 7:26 pm : link
As reported in the media:

The GIANTS obtained a conditional D7 - the higher of either the Tennessee or New England 7th rounder - from Miami for K Ryan Santoso. But Santoso was cut after one game, so the condition for this trade was most probably not met, so Miami will almost certainly keep that pick.

The GIANTS SENT their 7th round pick to Cincinnati as part of the deal for G/C Billy Price, so that pick is definitely gone.
This is a deep draft. I wouldn't trade any of our picks, except

to move down and pick up additional picks THIS YEAR. I would not trade for future picks, and I would not package picks to move up. We need LOTS of players NOW.
This thread title is wrong

Not sure why you'd keep the thread...

100%
Unless there's one player available the Giants feel like they can't live without we should absolutely trade down to get more picks
they said 11 picks again today
ron mexico : 1/26/2022 1:51 pm : link
which is it? 9 or 11?

and obligatory
This discussion has been going on at BBI for several days or longer.
Ivan15 : 1/26/2022 2:13 pm : link
Since we all think someone in the Giants admin reads BBi comments, I’m very surprised no one has pulled Schoen aside and said “you better figure out how many picks we have before you are asked about it”.

Either Schoen is going to have to backpedal or we are going to have to admit that maybe the Giants GM does know more that the BBI collective.
Well, this is what I got in the PFN draft yesterday,
Angel Eyes : 1/26/2022 8:22 pm : link
with Pick 225, 22 draftees in all. Got creative with the no.7 pick and went from there.

Round 1

Pick 5: DE Aidan Hutchinson, Michigan (6'6", 265 lbs). Hutchinson plays with a high motor every play, has good (not great) bend, with active and powerful hands. The main thing he needs to work on is being in the right position to tackle a ball carrier.
Pick 31 (acquired by trading Pick 26 and Chargers' 3rd round pick to Lions; Lions drafted QB Sam Howell): QB Carson Strong, Nevada (6'3" or 6'4", 215 lbs). Strong is primarily a pocket passer; strong-armed and has a good touch on the ball, with a little mobility and good feel for the rush, but not much escapability. Appears intelligent, goes through progressions quickly.

Round 2

Pick 40 (acquired by trading Pick 37 to Broncos for Picks 40 and 95; Broncos drafted DE Myjai Sanders): DE Drake Jackson, USC (6'4", 250 lbs). Jackson is primarily a speed rusher with great closing speed and versatility with dropping into coverage; can line up from almost anywhere. Needs improvement with play strength and tackling as he tends to get washed out when run directly at. Motor runs hot and cold, might be a rotational designated rusher at first.
Pick 55 (acquired by trade with Cardinals, gave up Pick 43 for Picks 55 and 87; Cardinals draft CB Trent McDuffie): ILB Chad Muma, Wyoming (6'3", 242 lbs). Classic 3-down MIKE linebacker who stuffs running lanes and is able in short pass coverage. Isn't as much of a pass rusher.

Round 3

Pick 67: OG Ed Ingram, LSU (6'3", 315 lbs). Not a great athlete, but technically sound, sets a strong base in pass protection. Can and will take advantage of off-balance defenders. Had a sexual misconduct case in 2018, Giants might look askance at that.
Pick 81: OC Alec Lindstrom (6'3", 298 lbs), Boston College. Lindstrom is a High-IQ center who plays with a nasty streak and is mobile. Needs work in leverage and balance.
Pick 84 (acquired from trade with Steelers; traded Pick 66 for picks 84 and 97); Steelers drafted CB Kyler Gordon): WR Alec Pierce, Cincinnati (6'3", 215 lbs). Tall, soft-handed wide receiver. More contested catch guy than separator (which is coming along nonetheless).
Pick 87 ((acquired by Cardinals trade): OT Bernhard Raimann (6'7", 305 lbs), Central Michigan. Tall, powerful OT who can dominate in the run game and as a pass protector.
Pick 90 (acquired by trade with Titans for Pick 26; Titans draft WR Jameson Williams): DT Travis Jones (6'4", 330 lbs), UConn. Big, powerful nose tackle who wins with strength at the point of attack, surprisingly productive (averaged 42 tackles and 3.5 sacks as a starter). Slow and occasionally gets taken out of position.
Pick 94 (acquired by trading Pick 50 to 49ers for picks 61 and 94; 49ers drafted WR Romeo Dobbs): DT Matthew Butler, Tennessee (6'4", 295 lbs). Primarily 3-tech defensive tackle who is explosive off the snap. Needs improvement in hand placement to cut down on missed tackles.
Pick 100 (acquired via three-way trade with Rams and Steelers for picks 100 and 141; Rams drafted DE Kingsley Enagbare, Steelers drafted OT Jaxson Kirkland): LB Darrian Beavers (6'4", 252 lbs), Cincinnati. Beavers is a long run defender with great instincts, sniffs out misdirection well. Does a good job of slowing tight ends out of the gate and in short zone as a SAM linebacker. Isn't a great athlete and this can hinder his ability to play man coverage.

Round 4
Pick 109: OG Marquis Hayes (6'5", 324 lbs), Oklahoma. Hayes is a strong run blocker with nastiness and good lateral movement. Could use work in footwork when in pass protection.
Pick 120 (acquired by trading Pick 61 to Chargers for picks 79 and 120); Chargers drafted OG Lecitus Smith): RB Dameon Pierce, (5'10", 215 lbs) Florida. Compact, contact-absorbing power back who is also strong in pass protection and even as lead blocker. Not especially fast.
Pick 124 (acquired by trading Pick 97 to Patriots; Patriots drafted RB Zonovan Knight): TE Cole Turner (6'6", 240 lbs), Nevada. Primarily a receiving tight end who fights hard as a blocker.
Pick 128 (acquired by trading Pick 79 to Titans for Picks 128 and 140; Titans drafted TE Trey McBride): CB Jalyn Armour-Davis, Alabama (6'1", 192 lbs). Long and twitchy cornerback who defends the run and pass well; similar to Bradberry but more willing against the run. Could have more consistent production.
Pick 140 (acquired via Titans trade): TE Charlie Kolar (6'6", 250 lbs), Iowa State. Big, in-line type tight end who is good as a pass catcher and blocker. Not especially speedy.
Pick 141 (acquired via Rams and Steelers trade): S Sterling Weatherford, Miami of Ohio (6'4", 220 lbs). Strong safety who is versatile, adept at run defense and able in pass coverage, sheds blocks well. More quick than fast.

Round 5
Pick 174: OG/OC Dohnovan West (6'4", 300 lbs), Arizona State. Experienced, flexible, surprisingly athletic for a guard. A bit light, needs to work on pad level in pass protection.
Pick 176 (acquired via trading picks 146 and 225 to Lions in exchange for Picks 176, 181, and 233; Lions drafted OC James Empey): WR Kyle Philips, UCLA (5'11", 197 lbs). Speedy slot receiver with good hands.

Round 6
Pick 181 (acquired via Lions trade): WR Skyy Moore (5'10", 195 lbs), Central Michigan. Moore has great speed, soft hands (only seven drops throughout college), and excellent with rout running. Originally recruited as a cornerback. Size could be an issue, as is his competition; would likely be a slot receiver. Not much of a blocker.
Pick 182: OT/OG Cordell Volson (6'6", 311 lbs), North Dakota State. Big, powerful run blocker, quite versatile. Doesn't have great foot speed and can struggle with speed rushers.

Round 7
Pick 233 (acquired via Lions trade): P Jake Camarda (6'2", 180 lbs), Georgia. Camarda is an accurate punter who can definitely boom big ones (68 yards vs. Alabama at one point).

Think I hit everything to overhaul the roster. Thoughts?
