HC search process felt a lot less uninspiring? Rhule was exciting and Judge was an unknown but seemed like a guy that they had to search for. This feels like two retreads, Patrick Graham and Shoen's buddies. A little disappointed so far.

Could not disagree more. Way more excited about Daboll or Flores.
With Rooney rule and not make this HC process a total joke
They will have already complied Thursday by interviewing Flores in person.
You need a back up in case your one scheduled minority interview backs out. If you were interviewing to be a HQ and got the feeling you were only being interviewed so a team can meet the requirements, that might offend you and cause you to drop out of the interview. Best to schedule more than one minority interview. You can always cancel the excess ones later if they are not needed.
By the senior bowl. I'd expect an offer over the weekend, and the coach to be in Mobile to catch at least the bulk of senior bowl practices. Who is Schoen taking with him to mobile right now ? Chris ?
RE: RE: Flores is a million times more appealing than Frazier imo
to a friend by interviewing him a second time. Makes him more attractive to others. If he interviews one Buffalo candidate once and the other twice what does that say?
"If Joe Schoen wants someone he knows, trusts and worked with and the Giants ownership prefers someone with previous HC experience, Frazier could be their compromise candidate."
I sure hope that the Giants don't settle for their 3rd favorite HC candidate.
what the hell he was doing in those last 13 seconds.
I get that, but should also point out:
3 shut outs last season, one against the Packers.
Gave up a combined 51 points in 3 games against the Patriots, average of 17 points per game.
After a 41-15 loss to the Colts, for their remaining regular season games, they conceded:
6, 14, 33(v Bucs), 14, 21, 15, 10.
So kept the opposition to under 20 points in 5 of their last 7 games.
Really, are we in a position to turn our noses up at that?

Giants will already be compliant with the Rooney rule by interviewing Flores and Graham. Only one external candidate is required to be in person so if this was only to comply Frazier wouldn't have had to come into the building.
Frazier has head coaching experience, led the top defense in the league this year, and has worked with Daboll . . . of course he's going to be a seriously considered candidate. This shouldn't be shocking or upsetting.
Thankfully the Giants seem to be evaluating candidates based on their entire resume rather than just on one game against Patrick Mahomes.

Or, in a world where some people might actually want to hire minorities because they think they are able to do the job, they're doing their due diligence.
I think the Giants hire whomever Schoen feels most comfortable
I just hope whoever we hire at some point I get the feeling that the Giants are in good hands at HC. Since the early 80s, I felt we were good at HC in varying degrees with Perkins, Parcells, Reeves (early on) and Coughlin. Never felt confident with any of the other HCs.
Don't lose sleep.

100% agree. This feels like the Giants fallback if Daboll & Flores fall through, which I doubt happens.
Wants
Because when things mattered, his defense shit the bed, repeatedly. And then again. Repeatedly.
No.
LoL - Its like in Fun with Dick and Jane when Dick gets an interview just so they can get him stutter "statistics" again

Perception matters.
Graham eh. Frazier eh, Flores eh, Quinn eh
I feel like we are watching baseball coaches being recycled.

Word is that Flores wants the Giants HC job over all others, so I doubt that deal would "fall through".
My concern is that Schoen is so attached to his Buffalo guys that he would take Frazier as his second choice if Daboll decided to take another HC job.

Curious, because I really don’t know much about coaches around the league other than the big names. Whom do you find inspiring?
Hey Dean, hope you’re well, my friend..
Doesn’t Flores coming in tomorrow, satisfy that? Regardless, a big no to LF

Has a top 10 defense every year. Not sure why people want no part of him here. Not my top choice, but he’s totally qualified.

No.
If his defense gets you to the playoffs every year sign me up. Not to mention he was without his pro bowl corner Tre White most of the year.

I don't get the dislike otherwise. Always liked the way Bills D is set up
It would be awesome if people didn't say that for every minority candidate.
That fact that you assume that any minority couldnt possibly be a real viable candidate is fucking racist.

Don't be an idiot.
Completely agree!

I meant Schoen, not Daboll.

Frazier is 21-32 as a head coach.

Digging further into the resume, as defensive coordinator or head coach (16 seasons)
3 seasons top 10 in points allowed
4 seasons bottom 10 in points allowed.
6 seasons top 10 rush yards allowed
5 seasons top 10 pass yards allowed.
When were his top finishes? 08-2010 vikings and '18, '19, '21 Buffalo.
Good DC when given exceptional talent.
Bad DC when not. Just like a everyone else.
