Joe Schoen has referenced having 11 draft picks this year a few times. I confirmed that the Giants only have nine picks.
They lost two seventh-rounders with the Billy Price trade and the conditions not being met in the Ryan Santoso trade.
;-P
No. We do not have a 7th rounder.

No 7s.
Two 1s, two 3s, two 5s though.
Occam's razor... moron got involved.

FA splurge to put us in cap hell followed by bad trades giving up future picks to try to save the OL which he ignored.
Bravo
I disagree. He should have double checked that number before he uttered it in public--especially at his first public appearance.
Suggests a degree of sloppiness to me.
Well, it looks like Schoen’s evaluation of at least one front office guy is complete!
In exchange for a 2022 fourth-round draft choice, the Giants acquired Bredeson, a 2022 fifth-round selection and a 2023 seventh-round choice. (Source: Giants)

as I said on another thread, Schoen isn't to blame here. Some idiot on the Giants told him the team has 11 picks.

Chris, I came in here with a open mind but come on. Time to focus on those horses.
The Giants did give up a 4th but they also acquired a 5th this year from Baltimore and a 7th in 2023. So they essentially traded down for Bredeson.
trade for Ben Bredeson looks terrible. We gave up a #4 for him or we would have two #4s
While I still agree Eric, I thought we received Balt 5th round pick?

Good point, Jay

Nope.
That trade really pissed me off

Have you never worked at a fairly large organization or on a fairly large team where folks have to rely on their coworkers being accurate? My goodness. If you want the GM double checking every piece of information he gets that's all he'll do all day.

The Price trade was even worse.
The legacy of Gettleman is going to last eons
Honestly it was O'Hara that said it in his interview. Seems like Schoen just ran with it after that.
I really don't see it as a big deal.

Schoen that should be fired.

Nah. Hearing DG left a handwritten note on the 'credenzer' in his old office on the way out.
Probably Chris Mara.

Giddy, yep. That and some of DG's ridiculous cap management moves during the season this year. Knew he was gone but decided ot leave the next guy in as shitty a spot as possible.
;-P
I guess that’s what he had in mind lol.

You could tell it was going to be a disaster when they needed to bring guys in right before the season.
Who do you think we could draft in the fourth round this year for the OL who would be better???
yeah you dont suck this bad by accident. This franchise is still in big big trooulbe.
Who do you think we could draft in the fourth round this year for the OL who would be better???
I'm OK with Bredeson. I did not like the Price trade.
Who do you think we could draft in the fourth round this year for the OL who would be better???
Agreed... it's a SWAP of our 4th rd pick for a 5th rd pick from Baltimore. And we still have a 4th rd pick, since we had 2 4ths (one from the Bears).
Bredeson will compete for a starting gig this year or be a decent backup guard and provide much needed depth. Imagine if we didn't have Bredeson?! Our ONLY guard would be Shane Lemieux who didn't even play this year. It was a solid move by Gettlemen to acquire a guy drafted in the 4th rd (by a team many here respect for their drafting of OL) and has potential. Let it go.
FA splurge to put us in cap hell followed by bad trades giving up future picks to try to save the OL which he ignored.

I guess we will just ignore than he got us an extra 1st, 3rd and 5th this year and an extra 5th last year.
Who do you think we could draft in the fourth round this year for the OL who would be better???
Because on a team that started Matt Skura all year at left guard, he couldn't beat him out even when healthy.
No need to waste a pick on a punter. NY will be an attractive place for both free agent punters and undrafted punters.
Four years of drama with transitioning out from Eli to failing with DJ
Four years of culture problems while ironically touting improving culture as a goal.
Four years of eye rolling press conferences from an incompetent arrogant GM.
Four years of losing at the highest rate in the entire NFL.
But yeah, it’s the 4th round pick we gave up for Bredeson that really pisses you off...
