@Ralphvacchiano
referencing Joe Schoen:
"He has really strong communication skills and is going to be able to unite the building. The communication hasn't been the greatest in the building over the last couple of years. With Joe's addition, that will get straightened out."
Yikes...what the hell was going on there?
Pretty clear it's also on the HCs.
Shurmur was very mild-milquetoast and deferential on things. Judge was apparently unapproachable in some ways.
Most people just tried to avoid him when he was making his rounds.
Does make it even more odd that they let DG have his farewell tour like they did.
The word "Unite" in that sentence says a lot. I wonder if our resident asshats know more, but I guess I would also assume it had a lot with Gettleman not being on the same page as others including the HC. Remember how there were rumors that Judge wanted a hand in the GM search?
I wonder if he could also be referring to Daboll here with both him and Schoen being on the same page.
Think about culture/communication in an environment where there is a quasi owner with lofty title and hands in the scouting department and a nephew of the owners who has an actual scouting/personnel management position (McDonnell).
One thing that's common in many companies/units is you get cliques. It's clear there is a "yes-man" brigade in the front office that tries to gloss over and keep feeding bad decisions again and again.
This is why I'm willing to be patient, but a bit sickened by the obsession with making it work with Barkley and Jones at moment (the ship has really sailed on Barkley, and might need to on Jones too).
Yea, if only he had some control over who was GM or something... smh
and yet he let DG ruin the cap for 2022
Good job!

for making himself and this team look worse every time he speaks publicly.
They are acknowledging and owning to issues here. This is bad thing?
predictable fanboy take.
Do you really think these "issues" only became problematic recently?
I'm curious to see the changes that Schoen makes in the coming weeks and months. I'm not sure he will go on the firing brigade like Gettleman did immediately, but I could see him moving on from people in the front office as time moves along, maybe even not until after the draft.

Hoping to see Schoen as President of Football Operations and GM, with Chris Mara in the "co-owner / ownership block" exclusively.

No, actually it s a very good thing. Seems Mara is being pretty transparent.

It's the rational take. The miopic take --wait, what -there were some issues -how come everyone wasn't fired immediately is comical.
uh-huh. Gettleman was here for FOUR years. I'm sure things only recently went bad. Thank God classy Mr. Mara is here to save the day!
The MYOPIC take is thinking Mara is even remotely competent given the heaps of evidence suggesting otherwise. Our only hope is that he eventually finds the right GM/coach by accident. Clearly he has no talent for selecting people for the most important roles in his organization.
💯

Chris Mara's title Senior Vice President of Player Personnel? Did he have a role in communication issues?

How has the ship sailed on Barkley? He has suffered injuries and dealt with the same crappy OL and OC that Jones has. Barkley had 2000yds from scrimmage his rookie year. Lets see him in a real offense with a real OL
I agree. He's owned up to problems in the organization, he's taken responsibility, he's made changes. The issue is whether Shoen is the right person and he hires the right head coach, and we won't know that until they start winning some games.
Mr. Schoen has a lot of work to do. Good thing he is already up to Round 4 with his own draft analyses.

He was actually pretty straightforward without throwing anyone under the bus. That's what they call leadership. I know not many posters enjoy not having someone to snipe at but for shit's sake shut up and let's see what happens.

It seems like most of the board wants Mara gone which we know won’t happen because they say he is too controlling. So he hires gettleman and judge ok David hire was a shame but he let them manage and failed. Now they don’t understand why Mara did not jump in earlier.
Mara seems to be willing to spend money like he did on judges staff largest staff in the league.
He seems willing to spend money and resources to fix the issues.
My issue is you have a person with money who trusts his people to a fault because he does not know football. Hopefully this time we get the right football guys in the building.
