With different connotations with the fifth pick for the giants, sometimes edge sometimes OT with different players listed.
Always fun to see these but at the end of the day isn't the top priority with the 5th pick a top offensive tackle ?
We just can't go into the new season with the right hand side of the line as it is.
5th Offensive Tackle
7th Edge rusher ?
or if they are seriously wanting to bolster the O Line maybe OT and the highly touted Linderbaum at Center ?
I know that leaves us searching for D line pressure but with with the offense not scoring points because of the turnstile O line apart from Thomas who is solid, the emphasis is OL in the first round ?
So much can change between now and the draft in terms of the ranking of players. It will be awhile before we can accurately assess whom the Giants see as the top five (or top seven) players in this draft. There are always surprises!
Thibs
Hutchinson
Evan
Ike
Hamilton
Cross

Head coach, OC, DC, scouting changes.
Free agency
Trades
Combine
Better feel for players currently on the roster dealing with significant injuries
Mock drafts are fun and can be informative but are hardly be all end all.
Who we might be looking at if the draft were held today might be (or might not be) vastly different from whom we're looking at in 3 months.
So my hope the Giants are getting calls for QB needy teams that are further back.....several at 9-15....adding a couple of picks....
4 NFL quality OL
A 2 way TE
Premium DL
Edge/pass rush
WR
After cuts, we should see what direction they will be heading.
But, lots of needs, so lots of direction for that Edge pick. Could be something else.
