The Giants have met the requirements of the Rooney Rule during their HC search with the completion of today's interview with Brian Flores.
An in-person interview is set for tomorrow with Leslie Frazier.
Giants can hire a new head coach at any time now. Likely by Saturday a.m.

The Giants' official announcement on the Brian Flores interview said "(Leslie) Frazier is scheduled for a face-to-face follow-up tomorrow."
So while things can always change, that interview is definitely still on as of now.
only thing that scares me about him. He has never started well.
The slow starts are concerning but, his teams play better in the second half. This year you could argue injuries were part of the issue for the Phins in the first half. Their Oline was average and Tua was hurt. Their WR corps had a bunch of injuries too.
Giants were trolling the waters for a UFA cornerback. A vet to take over one of the outside spots, to be paired with Bradberry. Not a lot was out there. We were probably close for having to settle for leftovers or take a chance on a relative unknown. All of a sudden, the Titans cut Adoree Jackson. He went from being off our radar to being the #1 target, and at that point, he seemed like the perfet fit, and we just HAD to have him. The same seems to be the case for Flores' unexpected firing in MIA, right after we had a HC vacancy arise. Let's just hope, if he's the guy, that he works out better for us than Adoree has thus far.

Yep makes sense. Injuries are rough. Again the only thing that bothers me. I would have loved even one 2-1 start with how bad we start every year.
His constant turnover with OC’s , lack of support for his QB and inability to compromise with his GM, leads me to believe it will be Daboll, unless Daboll doesn’t want the job. We will know soon.

You’re really cherry picking stats there. 2019 they were tanking. 2020 while starting 1-3 they won their next 5 to move to 6-3. There are valid criticisms of Flores and I’m a daboll guy but your post is way off base

Saying he never started well is just fact. What's off base? Each year they started the season in a hole. It's valid.
In his time in Miami and the stories about icing out his staff for 8 weeks is concerning.
I think Flores has a bunch of red flags
Yes he did well in Miami but why let him go?
Why all the rumors of him being difficult to work with?
No thank you I am good.
He has experience and has won in this league without a lot of talent. Has done well vs the patriots who were the standard of excellence in that division. If he can get a good staff and keep the continuity, then he is a great choice.
Daboll is the unknown. He has never been a HC at any level….ever. I think Daboll is better for the development of Daniel, but might lack in all other areas.
I think it will be Daboll but I love the no nonsense attitude of Flores.

It’s like saying the Texans started slow this year. They didn’t start slow they had expansion level talent
Going 6-3 isn’t starting slow. They lost to the bills (won the division), pats, and Seahawks who were very good 2 years ago. Little bit of context
This year they underperformed. But putting it out there that his teams always start slow is disingenuous

I'm not sure about your argument. The dolphins aren't "expansion level talent". They did get to 9 wins in 2020, so this was not a nothing roster. 0-2 starts are never good. You know this because this is where the Giants have lived for years. 0-2 and 0-3 starts drastically reduce a team's chances at making the playoffs. Few teams with starts like that go on to make it. It is by definition a slow start.
Similarly going 1-7 is by definition a slow start. I don't know how this can be argued. Flores' defense allowed 35, 31, 27, and 45 points in their first 5 games. A year after posting the 6th best scoring defense in the NFL.

Average? By most rating systems they were dead last.

Didn't daboll share in those 5 super Bowls?
