Favorite Giants Defensive Tackle 2005---today

CMicks3110 : 1/28/2022 12:59 pm
We've had some very solid polayers at this position, so who is your ffavorite and why?

Robbins
Cofield
Canty
Joseph
Hankins
Tomlinson
Lawrence
Leonard Williams
Hankins, Canty, two big guys who controlled the middle and were

hard to run against. They also had good push getting to the qb.
Marvin Austin :P
Anakim : 1/28/2022 1:09 pm : link
Nah, I guess Hankins or Linval
youre missing maybe the best one
Aaroninma : 1/28/2022 1:13 pm : link
Snacks!

Leo counts?

Leo and Snacks by far the most productive.

Fred Robbins was also a Dann good player inside for the defensive front. A very productive front through the years.

William Joseph?

Talk about useless. He was a complete slob.
Linval Joseph

That was a vote for Linval, not correcting spoons

Didn't even notice til after I posted.
Cofield was

solid from day one...I hated losing him, especially to the skins...

Ah, that would make sense.
Lots of good ones on the list

I saw Linval playing at ECU who happened to have a real good team that year under Skip Holtz. I was ecstatic when they drafted him as he was a terror. Giants had a really good long streak of identifying talented interior players.
Dexter

and he still has a lot of room to hit his potential imo. He produces every year despite being double teamed on a regular basis.
2007 and 2011
NYG 4 LIFE : 1/28/2022 1:47 pm : link
Great memories of Cofield, Robbins and Joseph and Canty.
Loved Canty
FranknWeezer : 1/28/2022 2:09 pm : link
and was so pumped when we pulled him away from Dallas. He was the goods.

don't taze me bro

definitely linval
Eric on Li : 1/28/2022 2:31 pm : link
that guy had more uncalled holding penalties against him than any other interior DL i can remember. he was an absolute rock in the middle of the D.
Loved Fred Robbins

Reliable and just a monster on the inside with an underrated ability to rush the passer. I think he made life for cofield a lot easier. He changed our defense big time after losing Griffin and hammer the year before
Linval Joseph
Jimmy Googs : 1/28/2022 3:37 pm : link
or Markus Kuhn...toss up
Damon Harrison
g-baby : 1/28/2022 3:40 pm : link
For a 3-4 season stretch (probably crossing his time with NYJ and NYG), Harrison was not just the best run-stuffing DT, but legitimately the best run defender in the NFL. Really a pleasure to watch.
Freddy Robbins

was low-key one of my favorite players on that 07 team.
Funny thing is DT is one of the few positions.....
MOOPS : 1/28/2022 4:09 pm : link
that we pretty consistently draft well in the first few rounds, but we seem never to be able to afford them for their second contract and they walk. Then we have to dip into FA and replenish the shelves.
Fred Robbins
Jay on the Island : 1/28/2022 4:48 pm : link
when the Giants originally signed him I thought it was an overpay because he was considered a solid pass rusher but below average versus the run. As a Giant he was an excellent all around DT who played a key role in their first SB run.

Linval and Williams
