Except his defense at the end of the first half. It was ridiculous. I've never seen anything like that and there have been teams with far worse defensive talent than the Giants. The Giants still had a good DL and a very good secondary.
but it seems obvious to me we can do better. The defense wasn't so much a bright spot last season as it was a dim spot. Everything else was so wretched that even a bottom-ten defense felt like a respite.
I heard we get draft picks if Minnesota hires Graham as their HC. That's what I'm rooting for.
I don't even hate that. It's really hard to kill graham when his defense had no linebackers and no pass rushers.
Graham and Judge both told us numerous times that they could scheme in pressure on the QB when they were asked about the lack of edge presence. They never followed through with any kind of scheming to get to the QB. It’s the coaches job to scheme around what they have and do not have. They failed at that. I’m not sure who the blame falls on because part of me thinks Judge and his conservative style is more responsible but was apparent was it didn’t look like they even bothered scouting the opponents. They played the same defense with the same plan every single week no matter who the opponent was. That’s not exactly encouraging

Gettleman said the same thing back in 2020 about scheming pressure.
can't stop an opposing offense from scoring at the end of the first half, it's not likely they will win a playoff game. (or even make the playoffs)
This wasn't just a 2021 problem. It was a problem in the first half of 2020 too.
+1. Graham has to go
DK, we missed Martinez more than people thought and injuries didn’t help continuity, but giving up 79 unanswered points at the end of halves with less than 2 minutes to go was not only inexplicable, but inexcusable..

I know they said it. I just think they were delusional for believing it. To me, that kind of plan works in college. You can't just not have a pass rush in the NFL. No one has ever won that way.
Plus they didn't have the talent. Maybe a defense with average joes can be "schemed" to success, but they didn't even have that.

I think his defense will look better if we can finally get pressure with 4 men.
That's true of any defense.
But there is absolutely no excuse for NEVER being able to stop the opposing offense all season. Teams were driving 90 yards on us in some games. And it's not like the Giants were devoid of some pass rush talent.
I hope we are sniping every last one of those Bills staff/players. Just a hunch, and if the moon, earth, sun, stars align.....we could be in for a hell of a ride : )

Jesus Eric, can you be happy for even a minute?
Can I be happy about the 2021 New York Giants?
No.
Perhaps look at 2022, wait to see the staff assembled and not worry about shit that cannot be changed. So far I am happy with the process because it goes against all that was expected as we headed into week 18 (game 17) and your belief-fear that Judge would stay and Abrams would be GM.
The Giants do not have a very good secondary. They have an expensive, bad secondary.
You'd be hard pressed to find a better safety trio of McKinney, Ryan, and Love. Bradberry was a Pro Bowl CB in 2020. Jackson wasn't worth the money, but he wasn't a liability. Holmes, Robinson, and Williams are promising CBs. Even Jarren Williams flashed in one game.
I think the world of Patrick Graham, I really do. I'm just not sure keeping Graham as DC is right move for Graham or for the Giants. Also sets up a weird dynamic with the players, imo.
Daboll and Graham are pros, I'm sure they can work it out. But, I'm not sure it's best move.

#Giants, per league rules, must also interview at least two minorities for their OC. Will be interesting to see who they bring in. Can’t imagine they want to wait very long.
Can't say Shoen doesn't have all the clout he needs

They signed two high priced man to man cover guys and then asked them to play a soft zone. They are good corners that have been being used wrong.

No, the Bills and Giants are tying to out-bid each other.

#Giants and Ken Dorsey are still working on a deal per source. Both sides want to get this done.

How about it the other way around.
If the D can stop the other teams offense we'd get the ball back in better field position and could score more points.
