As expected, #Bills are making concerted effort to retain Ken Dorsey. Here’s the issue for Buffalo: I’m told his negotiations with the #Giants revolve around a “big payday” and the strong push of Brian Daboll - who believes Dorsey’s the guy to elevate Daniel Jones.
Damn the costs.
Damn the costs.
Damn, Dorsey could cost us more than Chris Mara, and he's not half the football mind
No that only applies to HC and GM.
Excellent.

Not true. The NFL expanded the rule to include coordinator positions

Maybe because he knows more than you or I do? lol
If you stay and have success with Allen some may say it is only because of Allen and if the Bills do not do as week you take a lot of Blame. Come to NY and turn the offense around then you are on your way to being a head coach candidate.
Lotsa money
I'd take that if they can fix Jones. :)
How is that a negative? That’s a great problem we’d love to have.

Yeah, I like the Bills (even more now) but Giants play in a market that is larger by a lot. I know there's revenue-sharing but still.
Allen is established and considered a Daboll acheivment...can only go down if Allen falls off and gets minimal gain even if the level is sustained. If Jones does not blow up not as harsh a hit but if he delivers .... Boom ... low risk high reward and extra $$$$ ... Nice options on the table ....
The two men responsible for taking a scattershot Wyoming QB and molding him into a top 10 performer.
Open the wallet Mara.
Even if the Giants are offering him a nice raise, it seems to me that the path to an eventual head coaching gig (and true life changing money) would be easier as the offensive coordinator in Buffalo as opposed to here.

Dorsey comes here, fixes Jones, he'll be gone in 1-2 years as a HC somewhere.

It potentially lays out a deflation point from there. If you fix Jones next year, you want there to be some continuity and stability, as stated by Mara and Schoen.
Eli had it with Coughlin and Gilbride and company (after they canned Hufnagel).
1. Money
2. His relationship with Daboll
3. NYC>>>>>>Buffalo
4. Money

5. Real experts believe Jones is better than what the BBI collective axepertz thinkz
I would expect that title to shake him loose.
Add Dorsey and the topping would be a “Wink”😉
Because some people like a challenge. And if he has aspirations to becoming a head coach himself, helping Jones become a productive NFL QB is a huge mark on his resume as a coach. If it doesn't work out, they'll pretty much get to hand-pick their next project in 2023.
I'm not disparaging Jones, here. Buffalo is set up to be in the spot light for the next few years

I would think Buffalo is going to have to find their way a bit. Not saying they won't be good, but who knows if they'll be as good. Allen absolutely sings Daboll's praises. It's a loss for them.

Dorsey is likely still learning. He may look at it like he either gets more time with his mentor still with him or he stays in Buffalo and takes the job without a huge portion of his support group. McDermott is a defensive guy. It would be a risk staying because if the offense regresses without Daboll around he’s gonna take the heat.
Lemmings are born to jump, let’s just hope they follow through

money is 1 thing, but if you wanna be a HC staying in Buffalo would appear to be the move. Pretty much 2 more years max of Allen would guarentee it.

Good points.
1. "Big Payday."
2. Do well, revive the offense, help improve Jones' game, and you become a HC candidate. Everyone expects Josh Allen to be great and if he and/or the Bills' offense falls off a bit, it's on you.
3. "Big Payday."

#Giants, per league rules, must also interview at least two minorities for their OC. Will be interesting to see who they bring in. Can’t imagine they want to wait very long.

Apparently only one minority candidate though for OC/DC/STC
$$$$ that's why
No, as far as the NFL is concerned, there are only 2 categories, head coach and all others. Buffalo can veto any interview for Dorsey except for head coach. Making his title assistant head coach means nothing.

This rule has been changed. Buffalo cannot block an interview.
Yes I remember everyone worrying we were going to lose Graham and Garrett before they did anything here. I would LOVE to lose a coordinator because of success. Let’s have some success first.

If in his heart of hearts he’s a Daboll guy more than a McDermott guy he’s gonna sign up to work for the guy he wants to work with, probably believing that he and Daboll can find similar success with the Giants eventually anyway (if he’s confident Josh Allen’s success had plenty to do with he and Daboll).

Haha I was gonna say I remember hearing all these same things about Graham. Even the year we went 6-10, afterwards so many people were paranoid Graham was immediately getting snatched up to be a HC— as though the coordinators on 6-10 teams are often a threat to get poached.
That’s not a “negative counterpoint” at all— you could literally say that about any coordinator ever: “we might end up being really good and winning a super bowl and then other teams are gonna wanna hire our coordinators ☝️ That’s one possible downside of hiring coordinators.”
