Why are people still saying this?
Far too many were saying this, or similar, about the GM job. We end up getting one of the top options available. Then people were saying it about the HC position. Again, the Giants are getting one of the top options available. Now several posters are saying the same thing about Dorsey for OC.
Did you learn nothing?
If the Bills block him, that's another argument btw.
The NY Giants are still a prime destination throughout the NFL. One of the oldest franchises in the NFL. Previous SUCCESSFUL Head Coaches, GMs, players are revered and highly respected. Be one of the people that turns this franchise around and get another Lombardi and your name gets etched into stone. It's not just Giants' fans that still talk about Parcells, it's the entire league's fans. His coaching tree is legendary.
For the record, if any prospective GM, HC, OC, etc doesn't want to come work for the NY Giants because it's too hard then I don't want them here either. I'd rather have the person that thinks they are the one to turn it around. I want the person who is in it to be competitive and step the hell up. I'm sure Tom Brady wanted to prove he can do it without Belichick and I'm sure Belichick is itching to do the same without Brady.
You don't do it because it's easy. You do it because it's hard. That's the difference between a player that plays hard until he gets that big contract and the one that plays to make the HoF. The GM, Coaches, Staff, etc are no different.

Even if the Giants are offering him a nice raise, it seems to me that the path to an eventual head coaching gig (and true life changing money) would be easier as the offensive coordinator in Buffalo as opposed to here.
When I posted it was because I saw the previous quotes. The same trend I saw with the GM and HC previously was starting to happen again for the OC. There were lot's of posters making this argument for the GM and HC jobs.
Thread is pointless though I guess. It's not like any of them are going to answer now.

It has said been numerous times - the why would anyone come here. And it has been the players and the FO. Take your pick.

As my OP says, give me the guy that wants the tougher challenge and not the guy that takes the easy way.
My point is nobody should be surprised that people are picking the Giants over the "easy way". Wasn't true for the GM or HC positions so why would it be true for the OC position.
Let's review:
For starters, we have a problem at the most important position in the sport, our cap situation is not ideal, our roster has major holes, we have 19 wins in the last four years in the worst division in the NFL, our ownership has developed too many blind-spots with how to run a successful franchise, etc.
Is any of that a misinterpretation of the situation?

If you live and breathe football like these guys do, it means something to come here despite our recent problems. We may be behind, insular, and down now, but: the owners are not bad people, they care about football and winning, it’s a big stage, it’s a team with history, it’s a team with 4 trophies and more championships. It’s a team with Hall of Fame owners, executives, and players. It’s a team that a SB win gets you a parade in the canyon of heroes.
All teams have some history and stuff, but you better believe it’s different here than Detroit or Carolina or Jacksonville. The Giants are a name brand. and prime destination. Any GM or coach worth their salt is thinking past the last few years or the next two and imagining turning it around and having success here. I mean, if you can make it here you can make it anywhere.

It became obvious that when he fired judges and gettle already gone he was open to a new new start without Abraham’s Bri g gm ; a new coach ; And possibly a new QBs.
