Assuming that they seal the deal with Dorsey as OC, they will have their pick of a quality defensive coordinator and have an offensive staff that has done something in this league and knows how to identify and develop Quarterbacks.
I've got a renewed interest in the program. There's reason to be excited. Really hope they find a way to attack the OL problem from different directions and get some decent starters.
Here is a nice article about him:

Here is a film breakdown from the Patriot's Game - he played left guard and right guard in this game (Bates gave up just one pressure on the day against the league’s no. 1-rank Patriots defense.):

Key notes:
+ Started the last 5 games for the Bills and they were his first five starts of his career
+ Versatile - he was the Bills swing tackle, swing guard and backup center
+ Knows Daboll offense
+ Hard Worker
Quote from article:
“He’s one of the first ones in the building every day,” McDermott said. “I think he’s got a great process, great habits, great routine and that sets him up for success. It’s great to see when a player or a person puts so much time into it and continues to work at it, remains patient or as patient as possible and then sees the fruits of their labor come to fruition.”
There is guarantee he would start for the Bills, we would start here. Also we are going to be releasing contracts to free up space to fix the line through draft and cheaper options like this one
