Second team in Dallas in the future?

Des51 : 5/9/2022 8:19 pm
I'm curious to know if Giant fans living in the Dallas area could root for this team. I ask because I live in Pa. and if the Giants are out of it, then no way can I root for the Eagles, but I'll pull for the Steelers.
A second team in Dallas isn’t as crazy as it sounds - ( New Window )
It will never happen

Not as long as the Jones’ own the Cowboys. I don’t care what inane BS Florio is talking about.
Jerry Jones net worth is $8.5 Billion...

He doesn't need the money, but he CRAVES the attention he gets as the biggest sports owner in Texas.
Don’t know why the mayor has to say they would support

A 2nd team better than the 20 million plus tri state area citizens. Chicago has a greater population why not them?
You would see a team in San Antonio

Before one in Dallas
San Antonio is a big market.

Didn't Saints play there?
My wife has season tickets for the Texans

Never been to a game…so I don’t see myself supporting another team

I used to go to a lot of a Raider games when they were in LA tho…just for the freak show

They also are great fans there. They remind me of GB fans in that they root hard for their team but don't throw piss bags at fans of the other teams. The Spurs basketball games are a blast to go to

It is also only like 1 hour from Austin. Put the stadium outside San Antonio part way to Austin and you can draw from both cities.

Will get his car t-boned.
No second team for me
US1 Giants : 5/9/2022 9:51 pm : link
It is only the Giants. Don't watch any other team's games. Maybe watch the Super Bowl without the Giants but usually not.
Not a chance

Dallas is idiotville for the most part as is most of Texas and I've had the misfortune of spending time in every corner of that state. No offense Rick, you're a great poster but I hate Texas and pray I never have to return.

+1
Once the Giants are done playing games, the NFL season is over (and it has been ending early/before the playoffs for most of the past 10 years).
It's all good Joey

I love North Texas. Best move I made 44 years ago moving from NJ to North Dallas. Raised 2 great children in North Dallas who got a wonderful education in Texas and now have 5 grandchildren.Live in a wonderful community Prosper about an hour north of Dallas and have a lake house at a private lake for the kids to enjoy in the summer.
It's all good for me and my family. As you know I only root for 1 football team my beloved NY football Giants. If they add another NFL franchise in Texas it will almost certainly end up in San Antonio.
Let's Go Giants!!!

Don't root for other teams

unless it benefits the Giants in some way. Do root against teams all the time, but that's different.
Looking at US statistical area on Wikipedia
Gruber : 5/10/2022 9:30 am : link
If you combine Austin and San Antonio, you get 4.9 milliion people, with an increase of +20% since 2010. That's easily enough to support an NFL franchise.
Largest areas without a team are Orlando, San Diego and St. Louis.
Personally, I wouldn't want another Florida side. The Chargers should never have left San Diego.

I used to live in San Antonio. Often wish I never left, awesome place to live.
Off the top of my head

That sounds like the stupidest of all possible places you could put an NFL team if you wanted the team to get traction. That or Green Bay.

Yeah, they could put it off I35 past the loop on the north side of SA. You would have to expand that part of the Hwy though due to already traffic problems that a stadium would only increase
2nd team options

I'll root for the Jets long before I'd follow either Philly or Dallas. Just sayin'.
