So it sounds like Schoen may have had potential deals in place to trade Bradberry, but no other team wanted to pay Bradberry's remaining salary/contract. So in order for a trade to take place Bradberry would of had to agree to the reduce salary (new contract) that another team would have been willing to pay to complete the trade? Am I understanding this correctly?
Ok. Thanks. That is basically what I'm asking. So it was in Bradberry's best interest to be released if he couldn't get a new deal that paid him more money with additional years.

It depends. Bradberry is gambling on himself to return to pre-2021 levels. A new contract would have included the security of additional years to spread out the signing bonus for cap purposes. However, if it backfires and the arrow is pointing downward he could be in for the Jadeveon Clowney/Stephen Gilmore type contracts where it is almost entirely salary and little bonus on a 1 year deal so if it does not work out a team can cut him with minimal cap hit.
the extensions being offered to Bradberry this offseason were like a fraction of that amount. Probably in the 3/30 range.
he turned them down and is apparently willing to get whatever he gets this season in hopes of having a pro bowl year like 2 years ago and getting a bigger deal.
reuniting with Graham in LV seems like a very logical move.
He also kind of knows his general value now, he can get a 3 year deal with good guaranteed money. Even though cap money is pretty dry, teams can push money into future years.

the 1 confirmed team he was negotiating with (Houston) is reportedly not interested because they ended up picking Stingley and signed Steven Nelson.

Texans and former Giants corner James Bradberry were at least $5 million apart in contract discussion in prospective trade talks, per league sources. Not expected to be revisited after team drafted Derek Stingley Jr. third overall and signed veteran corner Steven Nelson.
Most likely Bradberry is going to have to settle for a much lower salary this year (5-8m) in order to pick the team of his choosing. In Vegas with the tax difference his take home may be more comparable to what he was set to make, plus he gets to play with a coordinator who got his best season.
Although Bradberry does not have any veto rights on a trade, if every team the Giants have spoken with will only trade if they can redo Bradberry's contract it does not make sense to continue negotiations with a team Bradberry will never sign a new deal with.
So... the only way to get everyone what they wanted was to have had some team willing to extend Bradberry to reduce the immediate cap hit. And the numbers just didn't add up, given the lower cap this year.
A shame, but it is what it is.
My uninformed guess is that he wants a long term deal based on his 2020 pro Bowl year, and teams were offing deals based on last year's lesser performance. So the upside for Bradberry is he gets a 1 year "Prove it" deal somewhere where he can prove that last year's performance was because of the coaching problems more than age. Down side for him is he gets a 1 year deal that proves the latter.
that's kind of interesting to think about. On April 13th they gave Nelson 2 years 10m so he wasn't exactly cheap. So had they gotten Bradberry I think they probably still go Stingley, which would have given them 2 corners with exceptional ball skills in Lovie's Tampa 2.
And after playing on what will likely be a one year deal in 2022 he will re-enter the market in 2023 with a rising cap. He’s betting on himself to have a big 2022 to cash in the following season.
