Negotiations are just that. Didn't Bosa hopd out hecause the Niners were trying to screw him. It's not one sided. Yes, most of the contract is non-negotiable but that doesn't mean every part is non-negotiable. Man, I hate the world we live in now where everyone has to know everybody's business 24/7. People flipped out over the MLB negotiations. Remember when people were killing Philip Rivers for not signing? SD put on the full court press to pressure him to sign. Then the details got released and it was 100% on SD on why Rivers didn't sign because he wouldn't get a chunk of his money unless he went to a pro bowl and/or Super Bowl in X of his first Y years.
1st pick gets x amount, x bonus, offset is the same for everyone.
The reason they didnt get this far with contracts? Agents. They would pretty much have nothing to do. I could be wrong on that but I think thats a major part of why they left flexibility.
Why leave any negotiating? Just have a cookie cutter contract and get all of these kids in ASAP.
RE: Are there any points to be negotiated with these rookie deals now?
It’s usually about when the guarantees get paid
They’ll need 12.6M to sign their picks (that count against the top 51), and then ~1.6M to add the 52/53rd player to the roster.
They’ll also either loser 1.8M or gain 1.2M depending on Logan Ryan’s grievance.
These number will shift a little depending on who makes the roster, who ends up on IR etc.
How about what the Raiders paid JaMarcus Russell for practically nothing

Bosa held out over "offset language" in the contrat. Not sure if that has become standard now
