I really really really would like to win the first game for the first time in what seems like a hundred seasons
Tennessee might not be as good as people think. Tannehill is on downside and their receiving corps needs work. Henry is a beast but has to stay healthy.
here I go again being all optimistic this time of year.
Tough task for the Titans. I would imagine any time you get a team 1st on your schedule with a new HC/OC/DC it makes it tough b/c you don't know EXACTLY what kind of tendencies they have.
Just sayin...ya know...if you want to give it a silver lining?
to the Jets last year. They’ve also lost their best player. Henry has slowed down a bit. Not a game we should expect the Giants to win, but Tenn is a flawed team due for regression next year that will have a hard fight to get back to the playoffs.
regardless of who they are playing or where IF Daboll & Co. have them ready to play quickly. Might be a simplified playbook in the beginning.
How does the other team gameplan for the Giants? On offense, you game plan based on Wink's defense in Baltimore. For the Titans though, I hope Wink stacks the box against the run. Try and make them win through the air. Blitz the hell out of them on obvious passing situations.
On defense do you gameplan for Daboll's Bill's offense or Khafka's Chiefs? Pre-snap motion for free release, use the younger shiftier receivers (Barkley too) to get open fast and get the ball out quickly. Can't wait to see this new offense. Again, IF Daboll has them ready right away.
Make them adjust to what we want to do and not the other way around. This should be easier to accomplish since they don't really know what that is. They will have to be reactive instead of proactive.

+1 Start the game by motioning Barkley out wide, Robinson to the backfield and shotgun draw between the tackles! No one’s expecting that! Then pass only for the rest of the first half.
Who knows what the rest of the offseason and preseason will look like for either team. But just on paper this feels like it could be one of those surprise week 1 games where a big underdog pulls put a highly win that no one saw coming.

We all thought last year the schedule gave us a chance to remain relevant into October, but then we started 0-3...
You look at a schedule in May and declare 0-1. LOL. Some of you have really been beaten down.
I mean… we’ve started 0-1 how many seasons in a row? And the Titans are an excellent team until proven otherwise… so yeah I get where the beaten down fans come from.

For the past decade we have played at home or away, versus division opponents or others, teams that were in the playoffs the prior year or not, teams that were expected to be in the playoffs or not.
And the Giants are 1-9 in those last 10 opening games.
Who cares? It's not like we're going to be a good team this year.
Don't hold your breath

Yeah, they are not going to be good. Doesn't mean I want them to get smacked around in the 1st game.
2020 win vs Broncos 16 to 13
2019 win vs Browns 43 to 13
2018 loss vs Dolphins 20 to 27
2017 loss to Raiders 16 to 26
They're talented no doubt, but the Giants have better coaches now than they have in quite some time. Time to change the course.
+1. Week 1 is weird, I'll always take a tough opponent on the road early.
Hopefully you eat before the game...

Don't like playing Carolina early as Sam Darnold and CMac are bound to get hurt at some point.
Will they be able to stop the run?
9 home, 1 neutral and 5 road games the rest of the way.

Aside from the NFC East and GB in London we only have 4 away games: Tenn, Seattle, Minnesota and Jax.
Why? The Tannehill we saw against Cincinnati still gives them the edge in the QB battle.
agreed
Great point!

Yes I m aware of the reason
Might as well jump into the deep end and see how Jones et al can handle that...
And the Giants are 1-9 in those last 10 opening games.
Something has gotta' change...
