and some of the good times.Bestplayer through the years had to be LT. Went to all the Giant games when we lived in St.Louis .Moved to Ft Meyers Florida and found a Giant fan club. and saw every game on TV.Now I am in Statesville NC living with my daughter . Need a favor. She and her adult kid are going to New York next weekend. to see 2 Yankee games. They will be looking for good Pizza and cannoli’s.
I am 94. And saw my first Giant game back in the Polo Grounds in 1941.
Nice job turkey. So a teenager as your first game, on the eve of WWII.
For the rest of us, the 1941 NY Giants went 8-3 and first place in Eastern division but got killed by Chicago Bears in the championship game.
The Giants primary QB was Tuffy Leemans who went to the Pro Bowl that season. He attempted 66 passes, completed 31 for 475 yards 4 TDs and 5 INTs. He also ran for another 300+ yards and 4 TDs.
.I was 14 in 1941.I saw the Giants. Vs theBrooklyn Dodgers but missed the Washington game.I remember Tuffy Leemans as well as Mel Hein.It cost. 50 cents to sit in the bleachers in the Polo Grounds.I also was at the Chicago Bears. Championship game in 1946.That was the one Sid Luckman fooled the Giants. by. keeping the. ball and didn’t,t start to run till begot around the end.It was also the game that Mel Hapes and Frank Felcheck QB was accused of. Being involved in gambling of some sort.I just don’t remember exactly what was charged. However they were allowed to play. and they were eventually cleared.
Planted in front our round black and white tv …dad twisting the antennae rotation controller as our roof mounted aerial turned and honed in on the best picture, transmitting all the way from New York to our southern Connecticut farm house. There they were, Live, the Giants. Followed them from then, to now. The NEW YORK GIANTS…..and on Saturday, from nyc, the Sonny Fox show. Good memories.
I started following the Giants back in Tark's last year....early 70's or so. Their Training Camp was at Monmouth College (not a University yet). Coach Alex Webster lived nearby in that area and was probably home for dinner every night. He opened a restaurant in Sea Girt after his coaching days were over.
Pre-season games were not hyped as real contests then, the way they are today. The Giants played the Eagles at Palmer Stadium in Princeton each summer, and you could basically walk in after kickoff for free. Those 'scrimmages' were not the revenue-generators that they are today.
Bleecker Street has a great Pizza and Cannoli spot right next to each
Forgot all the bad times

I used to love going to Johns on Bleecker ST. They have some great slices with an old school vibe. And right down the street 2 blocks away is Pasticceria Rocco some of the absolute best cannoli's I've had outside Arthur Ave.
My first game was 1942 and have been a fanatic fan since then. I do
Yet another murderer!
Yep, next month is the 105 floor WTC/Freedom Tower run-up..Join me?
Yeah!

Amazing, I bet you have some stories.
My Dad was there December 7th, 1941. Were you at that game?
I always thought 56 was a homage to LT.
Fan since 79...I don't remember the fumble but seem to remember the fallout.

The apostrophe indicates he's shortening the year 1956 to '56.

Yes. Frank is/was a good guy.
For myself, first started watching the Giants in 1959. Next door neighbors were season ticket holders and got me interested.
I heard he’s a consultant for 1886 to provide authenticity

Same here. I remember my Dad smashing something when the fumble happened. Before that I only cared about the Yankees.

So pretty close to what we still have today...

I'm older than everyone here. Born in 1921. I identify as a 101 year old.
Wow! Congratulations!!!
Well I was not born in 1921, but some days I identify as 100 and some days as 27. The 27 is dispelled quite quickly.
Time to get better...
I was going to post the same thing
Turkey kudos period. My dad could never figure out the internet. You are a treasure.

the ball then was so big it probably looked like Pickett trying to throw a pass
