Out of focus. Hole is not black.
Physicists claim black holes…

Are evidence of the universe as a hologram. I can’t even begin to understand that theory.
Speaking of, remember this?

That's too many words.
Shepherdsam : 5/12/2022 4:24 pm : link

I'm just going to call it the Milky Hole.
isn't every hole black anyway?
djm : 5/12/2022 4:41 pm : link

There is a black hole nearer to us.

The Giants have poured $40 million in dead money into it. Okay, lets call it a green hole, but like its counterpart in space, it is inexorably attracting even more Giants money as we speak.
Sagittarius A* black hole?
Eli Wilson : 5/12/2022 5:34 pm : link
Can we just shorten it to A-hole?
Great (and very funny) comments, Marty & Eli ...

Everything is amazing about this accomplishment, to me, the most impressive thing is how 100 years later, everything that Einstein proposed is being proven correct.
If you're interested in science ....

Check out the explanation at the 15:00 mark of the video that describes how hard it was to put the composite data together to create the picture.

I majored in Physics my first 3.5 years in college and actually find this fascinating.

There's debate about whether white holes exist or not. I think Stephen Hawking believed they exist.

Are you kidding? it's one of my favorite movies of all time. Despite the flat acting, wonky script, and parts that completely ignore the laws of physics and space
Guess we have something in common, Eli ...

I too was originally a physics major. Eventually, immaturity, running out of money (and the draft) got in the way, so I enlisted in the Air Force.

When I got out, I worked in the Space Program's Goldstone California Deep Space Network sites for 14 years, in the 70s & 80s. I've remained' a "space junkie" since.
