Hear me out….we all seem to agree that this year is a building year leading into next season when we take the next step. Chances are we won’t make the playoffs and will be subjected to being chosen next season for Hard Knocks considering we have never done it. There are only a couple teams eligible each year, so the walls are closing in. We are exempt this year with a new coach, but maybe we should just get it out of the way this year? We seem to be producing better videos and online material, some of which can probably be incorporated into the show. Then next year we focus on the next step without any distractions.

That leaves just three teams eligible to be forced into the docuseries:
Detroit Lions.
New York Jets.
Carolina Panthers.
Chances are we will be on the short list next year. I’d rather get it out of the way this year.
I explained why. Because we may be forced to do it next year when we have a real chance at taking a leap forward. If we do it this year we are exempt for 10 years.
