One of our finest character actors. Remo Williams is a highly underrated movie.

It was a terrific movie but, unfortunately, not a successful movie. Big box office flop.

Unfortunately, it was a big box office disappointment. They were planning on a series.

Even though I liked the movie a lot, I wonder if it might have been more successful if the movie leaned more towards the R rated nature of the books. There is a lot of great material there if someone ever tries to relaunch the series. Though some of it is obviously dated now :)

Fred Ward was good as Hoke Mosely in Miami Blues but I wished he was a little less goofy and closer to the character in the Willeford books - that's a fantastic series too. Would love to see a film series of those.
Timerider was my first favorite movie
Gap92 : 5/13/2022 11:18 am : link
Growing up in the early 80s, my parents had HBO but there weren't a lot of movies yet - especially during the day. But Timerider was always on and I watched the hell out of it. RIP Fred.
He was

This last week I was watching random clips of “Tremors”, such a classic monster movie. The entire cast absolutely kills it including Fred Ward. I loved his dynamic with Bacon in this movie.

He was in so many other things as well. Always was nice to see him on the screen. RIP
He was also good in Naked Gun 3

you knew he wasn't an "a-lister" (that is not a slight or criticism) but, if you start to examine his career - it starts to dawn on you that his resume goes on forever!

Always brought his a-game. RIP Mr. Ward.
He had that Everyman Look...
Klaatu : 5/14/2022 7:53 am : link
That all great character actors have. Definitely an underrated talent because of that. He always reminded me of guys like Ward Bond, Nat Pendleton and Joe Sawyer.

Remo Williams wasn't a bad movie, but I never bought Joel Grey as Chiun.
