I’ve seen the over/under win total at 7 for NYG. That is higher than the following teams:
-Houston (4.5)
-Atlanta (5)
-NYJ (5.5)
-Seattle (5.5)
-Carolina (5.5)
-Jacksonville (6)
-Chicago (6.5)
-Detroit (6.5)
Also, NYG plays HOU, ATL, SEA, CAR, JAX, CHI & DET this year. Last year, Vegas also set the number at 7 in a year where NYG was going for it. This year, they have the same number where they are clearly tearing down the roster.
Perhaps it is the schedule and an expected bump from Daboll. I do find it interesting that Vegas does not view NYG as a bottom feeder.
Lastly, this number would suggest Vegas is tempting gamblers to take the under, which makes me think that Vegas projects and 8-9 win season for NYG. Conversely, last years number would have tempted gamblers to take the over based on the division & FA signings - the under ultimately cashed in.
All this to say, I would not be shocked if the Giants had a similar season to the 2021 Eagles. Everyone expects a bad, rebuilding team with a shaky QB & they overachieve.
I’m not seeing a 3-14 type season here and seems Vegas agrees.
This is the best combination of roster & coaching we've had in a long time. Yet people are punting. I have no illusions of them being a contender, but I'm pretty excited to see what they've got this year. I bought Judge's wolf tickets, but this feels like the start of the turnaround.
for a team with so much turnover coming off years of ineptitude.
5-12.
Last years 7 felt to me Vegas was begging you to take the over. This year it feels like they are begging you to take the under.
The perception last year was the Giants were a trendy division pick with Golladay, Rudolph & Jackson in the fold. This year the perception is a teardown.
That pushes the win over-under higher
But it has nothing to do with Vegas insiders thinking the Giants are a good team. It's all bettor sentiment.
We can win 8 or 9 games
Under!
We should have an average OL this year, skill positions are slightly above (IMO), competent back up qb
Our front 7 should be above average, possibly even good.
DBs and especially depth back there is an issue
point is we have the makings of a middle of the pack offense and defense.
2017 Vegas 8.5 ACTUAL 3
2018 Vegas 6.5 ACTUAL 5
2019 Vegas 6 ACTUAL 4
2020 Vegas 6.5 ACTUAL 6
2021 Vegas 7 ACTUAL 4
So eventually the Giants will be better. When? I'm sure there are some posters that have picked "Over" every year. And ofc when they eventually become right in one out of 5-7 years etc then they'll brag how smart they were.
If this team stays healthy we can be in the playoff hunt but we are paper thin so injuries will play a big part.
I think the Daboll/Kafka O should net us 3 wins alone by doing what Judge said he was going to do, put guy in position to succeed.
Vegas loves to win but ultimately they want even bets on both sides and take the vig it has nothing to do with actually wins it's all public perception

Lots of holes but two of the three most important parts of the team are going to be very solid once a rookies get going. OL and DL. That's the best we've been on the lines since probably 2008.

You have no credibility. You say this every year.
