The Giants also announced they have signed two more rookie free agents, defensive end Ryder Anderson of Indiana and defensive back Jordan Mosley of Maryland.
Anderson, 6-6 and 266 pounds, played his final season for the Hoosiers after spending his first four collegiate seasons at the University of Mississippi. His career totals included 145 tackles (66 solo) and 10.5 sacks. Anderson recorded a career-high 3.5 sacks at Indiana in 2021.
Mosley, 6-1 and 210 pounds, played in 40 games in four seasons with the Terrapins. He collected 201 tackles (133 solo) one interception and 13 passes defensed.
As a Senior (2021): Started all 13 games at safety. Led the Terps with 83 tackles (56 solo) and tallied eight pass breakups, one forced fumble and 0.5 tackles for loss. Eighth highest rated safety in FBS via Pro Football Focus (84.2 grade) & second highest in the Big Ten. Mosley - ( New Window )

8th highest rated safety and he didnt get drafted? There were 19 safeties drafted. Kinda tells you all about the PFF rankings
Cross ran a blistering 40 in Indy and went to the Colts in Round 3. Mosley had a ho-hum Pro Day and went undrafted, but the Giants must have seen something.
RE: Mosley saw his safety partner Nick Cross ace the postseason.

At the very least, in the brief highlights, he looks like he's a hitter and a bit fiesty. Good place to start. The knock on him is his overall athleticism/speed.
it seems 1 of the new preferences is players who play violently on D
seem to have a lot of strong safety types... makes me think some CB may be working out at safety too.
I also am starting to think that Wink may not want Love to start but serve as that interchangeable piece that Graham used last year.
also possible they have their eyes on winks former chess piece chuck clark. that is likely a post june 1 trade for BAL but could already be far along somewhere.

Rodarius Williams immediately comes to mind as a safety convert. At the first minicamp the Giants reportedly had Jarren Williams playing safety but that could just have been due to the lack of safeties on the roster at the time.
looking at Mosley's stats, you can figure out what he does well and what he doesn't do well. He had over 80 combined tackles in his last season, but he only had 12 PDs and 1 interception in four years.
My daughter, Sami was born on Sunday, December 7, 1986.
Both teams were 11 & 2,and it was understood that the winner of this game would take the NFC title.
The Giants, of course, won the the game - Jay Schroeder threw 6 picks.
Until today, that was Sami's only Giants related anything.
She called me a little while ago with the surprising news that we now have a Giant in the family.
Sami's married to Miles Mosley.
His cousin is Jordan Mosely. Holy Shit, welcome to the family, Jordan
I watched his highlights Wow, my cuz was pretty impressive.
He hits like a maniac.
That's all, I just had to share this bit of cool news with my buds here on BBI.
The comments on this thread are very positive.
Seriously, +++Does he have a chance to make team?
If he does, what are the odds that Jordan and I become good buds, and that he'll be happy to score game tickets for his new bestie, Cousin in Law Jeff?
That's a joke, son, but I am sincere when I say, "Welcome to the New York Giants, Cousin Jordan."
Taking Hoosier defenders . Carl Barzilauskas was selected in the first round by the Jets in 1974. Barzo didn’t exactly light it up but he did have a bar named “Barzo’s Blitz “ on campus . These 2 guys might help . The Giants don’t have any depth at all at S. McFadden is an impact downhill linebacker who can’t be worse than Crowder in coverage or losing his run fit . Nobody can .
Adamg, I was poking fun of PFF and the draft grades

Chance of making the team. This roster is so bereft of talent that it seems like every player has a shot at least to be a backup.
So many players to sort through that there are bound to be some players cut who turn out to be productive.I don’t know if I can wait for a couple of years until the Giants have a set roster with only a few training camp battles.
But he sure looks physical and athletic at safety. If he was that highly rated and just signed maybe he was weighing his options and he liked his opportunity with the Giants.
You could make the argument that Mosely was the MVP of that defense last year. He is really great against the run and is always where you need him to be.
He may be limited in athleticism as mentioned. But he is a hard nosed kid who will let the opponent know he's there.

I was at that game. Went by bus charter. After the game some idiot Redskin fan starts yelling that he's going to slash my tires. I told him if he's mad enough to drive to North Carolina to slash my tires then go make yourself happy.

Corker, Thompson, and Mosley all seem like they will hit hard and make opponents remember the day they played the Giants. Like that attitude that Daboll/Martindale are bringing. Even if we lose it won’t be for lack of effort.
Ryder Anderson is interesting. He's more of a 3-4 DE, I think

Jordan Mosley Career Highlights l Maryland l - ( New Window )
We had two open roster spots.

full up - I wonder if more cuts are coming soon.

I think Wink's defense is going to be a really refreshing tone change from Graham's.
Quite the steal considering he didn't cost a pick, no?
I would agree with Eric about the type of players drafted on defense. They all look like guys who like to hit and like to play football.

Sure would be nice to see one of our guys make an opponent, offensive of defensive, very slow getting up.
It’d be a nice change.

So glad Wink is going to bring the Giant's defense back to a physical in your face pressure defense.
No more of the candy ass read and react defense .

But they still has substantial hurdles...making from 90 to 65.
Do they still have the larger PS?
I also expect more roster movement..the more the coaches see what they have ....
Some very crowded position groups
If they agree with us....they did good.

Yes, Love may play the Logan Ryan role. He could play the deep safety when McKinney moves down in the box.

Reminds me of something George Will said about why football is the quintessential American sport: "It's violence punctuated by committee meetings."
