TURRON DAVENPORT @TDavenport_NFL
Speaking of Malik Willis, he made some wow throws today. Nice touch to Chig Okonkwo on a seam rte. Bullets to Treylon Burks on across the middle and on a stop rte (w/Theo Jackson closing in), drove the ball to Mason Kinsey and Kyle Philips on out-breaking routes. #Titans
No. No they shouldn’t have.
Always.

He has the phyical tools, the rest is teachable.
I'm curious why so many are adament that he won't be able to learn those things???

Because he hasn't learned them, yet?

One very big consideration is he has had four years of college. Just like anything else when you don't progress enough with something after substantial time it raises concerns. Taking the QB skills part of it I think the Auburn situation was a much bigger deal (to NFL teams) than people gave credit to on here and the media stayed away from.
Hopefully this is not like some of your other posts and you are implying something else.
I honestly think Willis is an old school type prospect, in the sense that he shouldn't see the field until year 3 or 4. The NFL isn't set up that way anymore though.

Because people didn’t want him and really want to be right.

if it was at all probable would all 32 nfl teams have passed on him 2, 3, 4, 5x as some did?
each of the 32 teams is spending 10's of millions of dollars of armies of evaluators, is the expectation that they overlooked a QB with such obvious physical gifts? not saying it's impossible that they did but i'd be comfortable betting they didn't because the odds against non-1st round qbs are about as sure of a thing as you can find.
I agree that Tennessee is a good spot. And Vrabel/Downing will definitely have special down/distance packages to take advantage of Willis's physical tools. This will help the Titans and help Willis get exposed to NFL defenses.
Remember, when Vrabel got to Tennessee the QB was Mariota, who has similar dual threat skills to Willis. So, they are comfortable managing players like that...
I couldn't help but laugh my ass off at this comment. The kid does need to eat a few cheeseburgers to move up in weight class, that's for sure! His physique does puzzle me. I can't deny my initial feeling towards him. I'm always down for taking a shot at a QB in situations like these.
The NFL is rich with so many young stud QBs - Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, Allen, Burrow, Herbert. Mac Jones etc. It's an exciting time to watch pro football.
I've been a pro football fan since 1958; I can't think of any time that there has been so many young guys excelling at the position, at once.
Also meanwhile...
... Danny boy is apparently unteachable.
So which is it?
Based on the that’s written we can’t say both plays were off Willis.
LMFAO. Clueless.
Them and fanbois on BBI who’s panties are all tied in knots about not drafting a project QB that multiple teams passed over until the 86th pick.
That’s who.

Why does liking a player make someone a fanboy? Can’t you disagree and leave it at that? Talking sports is largely miserable now because of responses like yours.
Yeah, he didn't amount to much in the pros.
You would have chose him in the 2nd. Maybe even earlier.

Because the rest might not be so easy as ZOU think.
Just because you want Jones to go doesn't mean it's okay for you to exaggerate on other players.

I couldn’t care less. Deal with it.
Some of y'all take great leaps with takes.

We know, that’s why a reasonable discussion with you isn’t something that happens.
Remember the 2018 draft ?
Mayfield (#1 overall)- Looked like Boom, but now ?
Darold (#3 overall) - Bust ?
Allen - (#7 overall) Eventual Boom
Rosen - (#10 overall) Looks like Bust
Jackson - (#32 overall) Boom
Rudolph - (#32 overall) Bust
It's always exciting to root for the underdog (Willis - #86); Recall Tom Brady (199th overall), Bart Starr (199th overall), Roger Staubach (129th overall), and Johnny Unitas (102nd overall)
