I love (almost) all of you here, but having to read about trading Panarin down 1 in game 7 is killing me.
I get its extreme, but after watching the way he has played this series, would you not rather have Vatrano, Copp and Motte signed going forward instead of Strome and paying 10 mill a year to Panarin after watching how they have all played in the playoffs?
I thought it is worth a consideration. Sorry if that sounds nuts but Panarin is a monster contract showing up like Minnie Mouse when dollars count with this team.

This is a total overreaction to one series, and while he's been shit tonight his play in the series overall hasn't been as bad as some on here think imo.
Has been atrocious in this series. In the playoffs, you need to be able to play a 200’ game. He can’t do that. He is always looking to leak out for an offensive chance. His defensive zone coverage is non-existent. How many giveaways? Terrific offensive player but there is a reason he hasn’t performed against the better teams.

On this we agree. Fox, too. I think it will be a 2015 type thing (where half the team was playing really hurt but we didnt know until after the ECF G7 loss to Tampa) for Panarin and Fox. They both look not even close to themselves out there
on this thread are absolutely asinine. He hasn't had a good series but these takes are the definition of overreaction. He's one of the 10 best players in the sport no matter which way you look at it, he has a full NMC clause, and the Rangers arent going to trade him regardless. Teams would be lining up to do so if Panarin was willing to waive it and the Rangers were willing to trade him.

I would absolutely consider trading Panarin if it meant keeping the other 3. You are nuts if you can tolerate this type of performance when ge is still due 10 mill/year.
I love Panarin....but he has been terrible this series and you are taking 2 high performing players (Motte hasnt done much) and 3 diff upgrades on 3 diff lines (1 plays on both specials and can take faceoffs) for a player that has played worse than Rick Nash in the playoffs (Nash at least played a two way game).
Panarin has zero going for him in this postseason. I would take the 3 trade deadline aquisitions

Maybe, Im looking at the cap too. If I pay 10 mill a year to a player and have to fill other holes at the end of the season, given how the 3 have performed, Itake the 3 over the one that hasnt
underdogs against Carolina but no matter what happens more playoff experience for this group even if they can't get by Carolina is great for them going forward. But who knows where this year could lead, going to enjoy the hell out of this win regardless.
