I was not familiar with Will Levis until I started watching Won'Dale's highlights.
In addition to seeing an explosive Robinson I saw a fascinating QB prospect in Levis.
Four things that stood out about Levis was his ability to read defenses, throw players open, his accuracy and his pocket movement and awareness.
He is the most pro ready QB that I have seen with a level of sophistication and nuance to his game.
Robinson and Ali present a very small targets yet Levis constantly threw them open.
Of all the QBs that I have looked at so far he has the best accuracy.
In addition to those traits Levis is a real dual threat. He is athletic and runs with abandon. He is a lot like Josh Allen with his running and is not afraid of contact.
While he has a quick release and strong arm (throws a great long ball with 65 yard strength) he has an unusual delivery where he does not extend his arm when he releases the ball.
I don't know if this will be an issue in the pros

This isn’t baseball and he isn’t a pitcher. If you want to relate it to baseball, think catcher.
I never heard of a QB criticized for short arming. By not extending his arm in an elongated follow through, he is less likely to hit his hand/arm on an opposing player’s helmet or pads.
If you want to look at a peculiar release, look at Rivers.
Think about it... these guys are playing against players of which something like 98.5% will NOT make it onto an NFL field when people are reviewing them as draft picks. Even the shittiest NFL defenders are elite level college players. It clearly makes the chances of drafting a guy that can become a "franchise level" as good as a spin on a roulette wheel.
Brennan Armstrong (Virginia)
Jake Haener (Fresno State)
Hendon Hooker (Tennessee)
Phil Jurkovec (Boston College)
Grayson McCall (Coastal Carolina)
Tyler Van Dyke (Miami)
Cameron Ward (Washington State)
You’re welcome. I know others include Rattler, Hall (BYU), etc. but this is just who happened to be on my list.
It didn’t look to me like he was having a problem with any type of throw. Maybe any weaknesses won’t show up until the combine.

using the baseball terminology, that he "short arms" the ball. I suspect this will be a turnoff for a lot of pro scouts.

Rivers is a rag arm who can never make it in the NFL! At least that's what BBI told me when I liked his game pre-draft.
To the OP, I was immediately impressed by Levis upon watching Wan'Dale's highlights too. See much of the same things Archer sees. Perhaps most impressed by his pocket awareness and feisty competitiveness. He may not have the biggest arm, but he also may not need it.
I'm not a Jones hater, but pocket awareness is one of his biggest deficits.

Yeah, that’s a hard one to improve on a lot. Maybe jones makes enough incremental improvements to warrant a 2nd contract. He does have some good skills in other areas. But I would say 70/30 jones doesn’t improve enough for giants not to look at 2023 draft for qb. Might have to trade 1/2 of 2023 plus some 2024 to get top guy. Hopefully not, too many others holes to fill.
Disagree. A compact delivery is one of the most sought after traits in modern QBs.

If they have to trade multiple picks for their guy that's fine
Yuck. If Jones shows he's not it for the future this year, we're fucked if our future is Tune or Levis, I'd be surprised if either one is more than an NFL backup
I don't pretend to know. All though more BBI'ers do pretend to know... that shouldn't... lol
Hitting on a QB is HELLA hard even for people that do this for a living every day.
