Fastest Giants receivers(forty times) ...

Manny in CA : 5/16/2022 1:06 am

Clearly not all of them, but a representative list:

Slayton - 4.39
Robinson - 4.4
Shepard - 4.48
Golladay - 4.5
Toney 4.69

No "burners"; except for Slayon, the rest will probably not run away from the field. I guess it doesn't matter, if you can provide good separation and get a good 10-15 yards when you need it.
4.39

You typed 4.39 wrong for Toney
I would posit
GruningsOnTheHill : 5/16/2022 2:13 am : link
that the difference between burner Slay (4.39) and Robinson (4.40) amounts to little more than a fraction of a pube.

Dude was injured a lot last year...when he was on the field even as a decoy he was worth having..the speed scares people..even as a 5-6 receiver the guy brings value..hope the Giants consider resigning him before he catches on with another team.

Can confirm https://fourvertsfootball.com/what-is-kadarius-toneys-40-time/

He ran a 4.39.
Pro Day numbers are almost always faster than

combine times. There was no combine when Toney was drafted. He's likely a tad slower than 4.39. Just an FYI ...
Robinson’s official time was 4.44.

He isn’t built like a sprinter, but he’s fast enough for such a twitchy, elusive receiver. Conversely, his small frame helped him on the bench press: his 19 Pro Day reps reflect not only impressive strength, but also relatively short arms. For example, UK lineman Darian Kinnard is obviously more powerful than Robinson, but his 35-inch arms limited him to 20 reps.
The ability to go into and out of cuts quickly is much more important

for receivers than 40 time. Both Toney and Robinson excel in this.

Slayton probably

is the only one with long speed, but remember that VC only ran about a 4.5(4.47) and was rarely caught from behind. Game speed is also often quite different.
The above link is for OBJ's 40 time of 4.43

It would be nice
Gman11 : 5/16/2022 7:24 am : link
if all those guys could stay healthy during the season. None of them are fast while on the sideline on crutches
How recent are those times?

I'd expect Shep and Golladay to have slowed as they are older vets.

The difference between 4.39 and 4.44

Is 3.6 inches of ground covered per second. Quickness in and out of breaks and instincts matter so much more.

get too caught up in 40 times unless someone is elite fast.

Sinorice Moss, Stacey Robinson, Thomas Lewis, and Ron Dixon ran great 40 times.

Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, and Steve Smith did not.

Exactly. Big difference between playing wide receiver in the pros and running the 100-yard dash in the Olympics.
Let me know…

When players start running 40 times in game day pads and that when it will mater

Regardless of times… slayton and his brick hands should get cut. He’s not worth 2.5 million
