“He is going to continue to grow,” Kelly said. “I’d be surprised if there is anybody at any level that is going to be able to get in his head and get him out of his game, because he is laser-focused on what he has to do to get better.”
Deayon is still in the league and just won a super bowl. He makes Flott look like dwayne johnson. Anyway, like it was said above, hes only 20 and will fill out more.
Flott, 20, played the slot at LSU and named Giants’ second-round pick Wan’dale Robinson (Kentucky) as the most difficult receiver to cover. Robinson, who caught a touchdown with Flott as the nearest defender in their matchup, returned the praise.
“There were a couple times I came over to the sideline and said to my coach, ‘It’s like he knows what I’m running,’ ” Robinson said. “That was really the only guy I felt like that against.”
he's constantly in his man's shorts fighting for position, trying to grab the football, and is a ferocious willing tackler despite the lack of sand in his pants.
He’s got nice speed and length which Wink likes in his DBs.....
which was tied for highest among all DBs and roughly the same score as Eli for reference. Considering he was also the youngest player in the draft that seems notable. smart, tough, athletic is a good combination.
Is that ever really an issue at that position? These guys grow, and build muscle over time.
Sure it is. CB's need to come up and support the run, they need to out muscle big receivers to win 1-on-1's (like a Golladay), and they need to make tackles if a runner breaks into the 2nd level. How many times have we seen bigger DB's then him get chastised for making a business decision and "faking" trying to tackle someone or take on a blocker (Baker comes immediately to mind). Even in his clips it shows him being asked to come up and make tackles at the college level.
This kid, with even slighter build coming out of HS
had a scholarship offer from every team in the SEC except vandy. Then got on the field as a true freshman in an absolutely loaded secondary during LSU's NC run in 2019. Followed that up in 2021 by being the best slot cb in the entire SEC. He can play, I could care less what his triceps look like in a uniform.
10 passes defensed. That's why we see the same handful of plays over and over in his highlight reel.
I was kind of shocked after reading over and over that his movement skills are top notch. I'm a little concerned about the bottom line production but obviously I'm only a fan.

In fairness, this was after they were both drafted by the Giants.
Yup, many mini-camp and pre-season stars. They appear better than they probably are or will be and often hyperbolized by social media..
I've read quite a few articles lately. This guy is focused. That guy has a chip on his shoulder. The other guy is a hard worker. They don't even mention if the guy is any good

Unlike past years, I am keeping my enthusiasm in check until is see results in the win-loss record

His hands find the ball fast. Pick, strip, tip he targets the ball very well. Should creat opportunities for turnovers.
I aslo see the length , twitch and open feild selling out for a tackle which if he can get off the line he should be valuble gunner too.

I think that pic is deceiving. He has the white tape coming down the outside of his right arm and blends in with his white Jersey. Definitely makes his arm look a lot smaller than it actually is. Not saying he has big arms but not a twig like that pic makes it seem.

Nice post. It is a powerful statement that Flott, despite his very spindly body, got signed by one of the five best programs in the country and became a productive player.
But it will be a real test if his body type can withstand the physicality of the NFL.
When we drafted him, I was disappointed seeing how “skinny” he is. I didn’t think he would last long in the NFL. Today, I’ve gone 180° from that thinking and now believe he may not only be a starter, but will be a very reliable slot CB in the NFL. Although, I also hope he can cover on the outside, especially if Darnay Holmes can rise up and play well as a slot corner.

With a frame like that, he's always going to be skinny. But another 12 pounds on him would go a long way.

How's that possible?....every freakin player

Irish friend I grew up with had stick arms like this. I boxed with him once and he punched me silly.

no, they really don't, at all. he looks toned and thin, but his arms don't look twiggy.
maybe the white tape on the back of his arms is messing with your vision or something.
his legs are actually twiggier than his arms.
He certainly needs to add some muscle. But, 175 is not exactly twig territory either.

He has that anti-abrasion tape on the back of his right arm and it blends into his jersey. Look at his left arm.
At 6'1", he should be able to get to 185 to 190 by next season.
